Hello!

My name is December and I am 39 years old. Since 2008, I have been living and working overseas as an English/ESL teacher. I currently reside in Adana, Turkey.

My weight has been a consistent challenge and barrier for me since I was a teen. I was always at an average weight as a child, but I remember, at 15 years of age, weighing in at 150 lbs...a 25 lb increase in less than a year. I was so distraught, I cried in front of my parents while telling them about it. A (boy)friend also took notice and told me that I should watch my weight or I was going to end up heavy like my mother. I'm sure he meant well but those words really hurt. I have not been under 150 lbs. since that time. I would really love to get under 150 lbs again one day.
Since then, my weight went up even more and for most of my adult life I have fluctuated between 200-225 lbs, with my highest weight at 243 lbs a couple of years back. At this moment, I'm weighing in at 202 lbs. I feel a sense of accomplishment that I am no longer at my heaviest, but I also know I have a long way to go to get to where I want to be.
Recently, I found out about a book called "Bright Line Eating" by Susan Peirce Thompson. I read it and began the 14 Day Challenge 11 days ago. This book made so much sense to me as I have struggled with food addiction and binging (secretly) for a long time. It explains how sugar and flour hijack our brains and bodies and suggests that people stop eating these things altogether. I'm giving it a shot as I have nothing to lose at this point. Im 11 days in and 4.4 lbs down. Let's see how it goes!

Goals:
*Finally get under 200 lbs
*Get under 150 lbs 1st time since I was 15 yrs old)
*Reach target weight of 125 lbs.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I would welcome hearing about your successes as that keeps me very motivated.

God Bless!
December
