My oldest daughter took this. One of the better pictures she has ever taken. She never has had an eye for pictures. My youngest, I believe is going to follow in my footsteps.

My inspiration that you can prevail through illness. This is my oldest daughter, Karissa. She was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma when she was just 3 weeks old. They had given her less than 15% to survive, said if she did she would be slow, not walk as soon as the other kids, and would definetely never have any kids of her own. She had a beautiful baby girl. I'm a 40 yr. old female with a list of medical problems that would shock most. I need to lose weight, however, exercise is not much of an option. I have poly peripheral neuropathy, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and extremely poor balance. I also have 2 valves in my heart leaking. (I just found out that the left side of my heart is doing all of the work, because the right valve is so small that is can't) I also have a severe for of narcolepsy with cataplasty. Along with a long list of of other things as well. I'm having a hysterectomy and complete pelvic reconstruction due to the Ehlers-Danlos disease (its a connective tissue disorder) I'm really nervous, but I know that if I leave my faith in the Lord, then I will be just fine. I'm not ready to leave my 10 year old daughter yet, she has so much to learn about this disease because she was also diagnosed with it last month. I am on so much medication that I fell like a walking pharmacy. I woul love nothing more than to one day get rid of most of them. Thank goodness I have insurance, I could never afford them without it. I would love to lose this weight. I'm just not sure that it's going to happen. Maybe one of these days it'll happen, but for now, I just keep praying and hope for the best.

My Goals:
My goal is to lose another 40 pounds. I stuggle with the weight loss because of several health conditions that prevent me from exercising.

My Program:
Right now I'm changing my eating habits with hope that it will help some

Personal Information:
I am originally from Indiana. I moved to Tennessee in Aug. '03. I love it here. I just think that it is very difficult to make friends. I am disabled which makes it even harder to get out and meet people. I don't work, but I have plenty of Drs. appts. to keep me running. I would love to make some friends locally to go have lunch with and just have someone to talk to.

Thank you. I have come to find that there are lots of friends here. I'm having surgery tomorrow and I'm not sure when I will be up to sitting here in front of the computer. But I will be back as soon as I can. Please say a prayer for me. I am scared to death.

Thanks for the comment about the picture (castle) I really appreciate it.
Do they ever have assignments on animals or wildlife. I have lots to share if so. I'm really excited about this. Thanks again for he input.

Welcome to "sparkpeople". We seem to share two things in common: the inability to do very much exercise and the problem of making friends after a move to a new place. One thing you'll find out - you'll have oodles of friends at SparkPeople, plus lots of inspiration and support. I wish you lots of luck!
