I'm a young thinking & looking senior citizen who wants to live longer - I love life, love to laugh, & want to enjoy the rest of my years with more mobility & health. I'm not happy that I've let myself go, & I'm going to lose some unnecessary & unwanted weight and GET HEALTHIER for my golden years!

I'm not happy with what's been going on with my body lately - the scales are going the wrong way! I'm going to re-do my page AND my disposition. I have a new knee brace that I was hoping would allow me to get walking - but it hasn't been as helpful as I thought it would be. I'll be updating my page soon.

My Goals:
To become more healthy & get off of some of my medications.

To lose this extra fat - once & for all!

My Program:
A balanced eating plan (1200-1400 calories daily), based on the Spark food tracker - & consistently track my foods.

Regular exercise - which, since I have considerable pain in my hips, knees, & ankles, isn't a whole lot right now. I'm walking almost every day (trying to go a little further each day), & plan to get into a pool most days. Aqua Aerobics is the best I can do for myself!

Drink a minimum of 8 (8 oz.) glasses of water daily.

Personal Information:
I'm a retired (7/09) Registered Nurse - I returned home (Miami) in 12/09 to help my mom after she had surgery, & get myself back on my feet financially after having some big setbacks. The plan was to be here maybe 6 months. It's now been almost 18 months, & I'm still here (though no longer taking care of my mom)! Looking forward to getting things straightened out so I can go back to God's country near Savannah (unless God has another plan for me)!

Other Information:
I enjoy singing, crafts, travel, & time with my family & church family. I look forward to doing more church ministry since I'm retired, praying about starting a Christian bookstore in or near my church once I get back to GA. I sing Gospel (mostly contemporary Christian) - hence my SP name. My son & his son live in the FL panhandle, one daughter & her son live in NC, & my other daughter & her husband & two sons live in SC - I don't get to see any of them often enough.

    I just read this poem & felt it too good not to share on this CHRISTmas Eve! God bless!

    {This is another version of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas' }

    'Twas the night before Jesus came
    and all through the house
    Not a creature was praying,
    Not one in the house.
    Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care
    In hopes that Jesus would not come there.

    The children were dressing to crawl into bed.
    Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
    And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap
    Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.

    When out of the East there arose such a clatter.
    I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
    Away to the window I flew like a flash,
    Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

    When what to my wondering eyes should appear
    But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
    With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
    I knew in a moment this must be THE DAY!

    The light of His face made me cover my head
    It was Jesus! returning just like He had said.
    And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
    I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

    In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
    Was written the name of every saved man.
    He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
    When He said "it's not here" my head hung in shame.

    The people whose names had been written with love
    He gathered to take to His Father above.
    With those who were ready He rose without a sound.
    While all the rest were left standing around.

    I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
    I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
    I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
    Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

    In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
    The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
    There's only one life and when comes the last call
    We'll find that the Bible was true after all!

    (by Reverend Edward M. Gionest, Sr.)

    To those who receive Him, He gives the power to become the sons of God, even to those that believe on his name. Repent and declare with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, you will be saved.
