Hi, my name is Shelley. I am 62 years old. I started SP January 2007 at 240 lbs. Prior to joining SP I had lost 45 lbs. Yes that's right my highest weight was 285 lbs. Yuck! I now have lost 105 lbs total..

I have been gone (off of spark people for a very long time). I have since had a major stroke which has left my left side as nonworking. My left knee overextends backwards now. I have to use a walker cane to walk around

I kept exercising and lost a few pounds, but I am stalled at 180 lbs. I love Spark People and don't know why I ever left. I now realized I just can't do it on my own any longer. I need help, motivation and support. I am back!!!!!!!

Fitness Minutes: 4,155

My Goals:
Short Term Goal: Get weight below 175 lbs.

Medium Goals: To get weight down below 165 lbs. and waist down below 35 inches.

Take down all numbers into a safe numeric zone for my diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol.

Long Range Goals:
Get my waist down to 25"
Weigh 125-130 lbs.
Improve the strength in my knees by exercising and losing weight.
Get rid of diabetes!

My Program:
Write in journal daily.
Don't stress over losing weight.

Recumbent bike 3 x 6 minutes daily =18 minutes
Strength Train/Resist Train 30 min 2 days a week.

Get more active!

Eat fresh vegetables and juices 80% raw/ 20%cooked.. Drink Supergreens. Don't eat any animal products or dairy. Become more ALKALINE!!!!!!!!!!

My name is Shelley. I have four beautiful grown daughters and 16 grandchildren. I am deaf, but grew up around hearing people. I can hear one on one now with the aid of a cochlear implant. April 12, 2008, I married my soulmate.

Other Information:
I love to read. In my quest to lose weight, I have read tons about nutrition and exercise even before joining SP. I love SP this website has everything I need to help me in my weight loss journey. It's absolutely the very best get healthy website on the net!

I love trying out new healthy recipes that are low-cal, low-fat, high fiber. Finding one that I enjoy to add to my recipes is like finding a treasure.
