I chose my screen name when I looked in the mirror and could not believe it was me, down over 80 pounds after more than 50 years of obesity. I felt like a miracle! Now I just see me, a me that must keep tracking and working to control my weight so that small gains don't become a trend. Worth the work? Absolutely.

Oh, your bird list makes me nostalgic for our many trips to Sanibel . . . birder paradise for sure!!!

Roseate spoonbills are definitely among my Florida faves!! I'm hoping to see scarlet ibises on our planned "birding trip" in February!!

I think possibly that it's the generous use of herbs and spices which reduce the "need" for salt for me in my soup. Often use chili flakes and black pepper, for example: and almost always some kind of "ethnic" slant whether it's Italian, Middle East, Jewish beet borscht (this week) etc. etc.

I really hate that horrible sensation of "too much salt"!! Bloaty, dry mouth: that's why I almost never order soup in a restaurant!! ALWAYS too salty!!!
