I am a 49-year-old chick that needs to lose about 120 pounds.

I've been yo-yoing all my life. In the past, it hasn't been losing weight that's the problem, it's keeping it off that I have the issues with.

Now that I'm closing up on 50, I'm concerned that it'll be a huge struggle for me to lose the weight as well, so it's time to do something about my weight forever.

My biggest motivation unfortunately is seeing what carrying extra weight for too long has done to my mother. She has been over 300lbs for most of her adult life and although it hasn't resulted in heart or diabetic issues it has completely ruined her hip and knee joints. For the last 10 years her mobility has gone from bad to worse. At 80 she is reduced to incredibly short walks (maybe 100 feet and using a walker equipped with a seat) followed by long rest periods until she is ready to proceed again.

I don't want to be this limited as I get older. I need to do something now and make sure it sticks.

I need to not only lose the weight, but make lifestyle changes that will ensure that I finally keep it off for good.


My Program:
1. Making myself accountable by keeping meticulous track of everything that goes into my mouth every day
2. Bringing my food portions back to human sizes
3. Exercise, Exercise, Exercise!
4. Finally come to the realization that I need to adopt this healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life!



Personal Information:
I have a wonderful husband and 3 dogs. We live on a small "farm" in Northwest Texas with cows and chickens.

I'm a food addict and an emotional eater, so it's been a really slow and somewhat difficult road to travel, but I've made it and I intend to keep going.
