"I have just begun a weight loss program on May 13, 2007. I am hoping I can stick with this, long enough to reach my goal! I am more motivated than I have ever been before, so I am very hopeful!"

That was what I wrote when I first joined. It's now been seven months and I have not only stuck to my goals, I have exceeded them! I owe my success to Sparkpeople and all the wonderful encouragement I have been given by the members here! As of December 2007 I have now lost 65 pounds and I am still going. And not only do I have the confidence in knowing I can reach my goals, I know that this time I will be able to keep the weight off thanks to everyhting I have learned here!

Short Term Goals:
7/8 - 180 (met)
7/31 - 175 (met on 7/25)
8/19 - 168 (met on 8/17)

My Program:
I have changed what I am eating, completely. I am making healthier choices and trying hard not to eat after 7:00 P.M.

I am going to the gym at least four times a week. I am spending 30 minutes on the elliptical machine. 30 minutes on the strength training machines, and when I have time, 20 minutes on a treadmill!

I am also walking for 30 minutes on my lunch break with a friend during the work week.



Personal Information:
I am 36 years old. I am a single mom. I love my pets and my daughter and I can be found at dog shows on most weekends!


Other Information:
When I was younger I was a swimmer. I was even captain of my high school swim team. I was getting a lot of exercise then. When I went to college that changed, and then at 22 years old I had my daughter, and I have been gaining weight ever since. My body wasn't getting the exercise it was use to and so my metabolism slowed down, and my eating habits weren't very good.

I have worked at a medical office for the last nine years, where I am sitting all day long. Plus, we get 3 - 5 free lunches every week from the drug companies, and this also contributed to my weight gain.

I have started going to the gym at least five days a week, and now I am going to add swimming to part of my exercise routine. I really hope this helps!
