Determined to be healthier in 2009
I'm entering my 34 year of high school teaching and marriage this year. My sons are grown and I'm not having to do as much "caring" for them as I used to. They are very independent, which is what I want. But I have a little more time on my hands now so I can catch up on caring for myself (exercising, volunteering, etc.) My husband and I have a great time together. They are very independent, which is what I want. My Goals:
Working at achieving a healthy lifestyle that will combat some of my genetic predispositions (diabetes, heart problems, etc.) Want to lose 30 pounds by June 2009.
My Program:
Exercising every day (treadmill, walk at the park, recumbent bike, weight training); Eating 1200 calories per day (lots of fresh fruit/veggies, grilled meats, brown rice, yogurt). Try sticking South Beach diet principles.
Personal Information:
Wife, mother, high-school teacher, volunteer from Albuquerque, NM
Other Information:
I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me. Phil 4:13
Favorite Books: The bible; The Left Behind Series; The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman; John Grisham books; Action/adventure movies; Romantic comedies;
