I hated the fat woman staring back at me from the mirror so I told her goodbye  . . . I began my weightloss journey on May 24, 2008.  Between May and November I lost FORTY-FOUR lbs. (check out my blog entitled FORTY-FOUR POUNDS)  I felt great and I looked great . . . then came the Holidays . . . I got lazy during the Holidays and that laziness hurt some of the progress I'd made at being fit, eating better, and staying healthier.  That laziness lasted through January . . . and February . . . and here it is March 28, 2009 and my clothes are getting tight, I'm tired all the time, and I'm disgusted with myself.  You see, I had figured it out.  I had a plan and had changed my habits and things were actually good for the first time in nearly 20 years!  And instead of hanging on to the lifestyle change, I let it go.  But you know what?  I'm NOT a failure and I'm NOT finished.  I'm a work in progress.  I'm bound to hit a roadblock from time to time.  It's up to me though how I'll handle the roadblocks.  Will I park my car and walk away?  Or will I turn around and find another way? Buckle up if you're going with me!  I'm finding my way around this roadblock.

Oh . . . and for those of you that might glance at my "Small Changes" blog entries, I'm attempting to incorporate small bits of positive self-talk and positive thoughts into my everyday life. If, like me, your inner voice tends to beat you down and your thoughts tend to the negative, why not join me and see if we can make another positive change on this Spark Journey??

My Goals:
FIRST GOAL REACHED: My first goal was to drop 10% of my weight - go from 241 to 217.  GOAL REACHED 08-15-08  2nd GOAL REACHED: My 2nd Goal was to hit 200 lbs. GOAL REACHED 10/24/08  CURRENT GOAL: Small Step Goal = 200 Large Step Goal = 195

My Program: has changed me, it's changed my body, it's changed my life!  I workout at least five days a week.  I use either the treadmill or cardioglide machine.  On the weekend, I cycle with my daughter. We usually ride about 6 miles.  I track my meals and am learning to control my portions.  I drink AT LEAST 8 glasses of water each day.

Personal Information:
I live in Missouri with my husband and two wonderful teens.  I have two chihuahuas - CoCo and Zoe - that have stolen my heart.

Other Information:
I love to write. I dream of being published but will probably never send anything off as I cannot stand the thought of rejection.

    I'm part of the Adults in college group, and I have to say the positive self-talk is what drew me here. I think you've hit on something really valuable.

    new job, new home, new life, no church, losing mom.....don't know if you knew all that. I will have to fill you in some time!
