I am a 38 year old stay at home mom to two boys who has decided to also make ME a priority. I joined Spark Nov. 2010 and lost 35lbs and am now working at maintaining my weight/health. My exercise of choice: Running- I started running in 2011 and a year later completed my first half marathon, the following year I completed another and improved my time. I LOVE Jillian Michaels DVD's for my circuit/strength training! (Ripped in 30, No More Trouble Zones, Killer Abs, Shed & Shred, Hard Body etc.) And also occasionally hop on my exercise bike when it's too cold/rainy to run. I also *highly* recommend the Hungry Girl cook books, I've found a renewed joy for cooking, which has kept me on this healthy path the last 3 years. I have learned that I can enjoy HEALTHY food, healthy alternatives, and not feel "cheated".

My Goals:
To MAINTAIN my weight loss and continue to tone my body. To improve my running speed. To continue the healthy eating, to eat as little processed food as possible, which means eating mostly FRESH fruits, veggies, lean proteins, healthy fats and only whole grains.

My Program:
64oz of water a day, 2+ servings of fruit, 4+ servings of veggies, lean protein and healthy fats (omega 3's and 6's) instead of carb snacks, replace the convenience food with healthy meals! EXERCISE at least 4 days a week.

Other Information:
I enjoy traveling, reading, running, cooking/entertaining, music, dancing, movies, biking, reality tv, expensive perfume and good food!

    It's actually not too bad getting up early to go to the gym. I have everything in the car and ready to go, so really all I have to do is roll out of bed, change, and get coffee. :)

    Thanks for the comment on my sparkpage. I am working really hard at portion controlled and planned/controlled snacking. That, plus the long runs, seem to be making the scale move, finally. 6 more pounds, and I'll be lower than my wedding weight and finally at my goal.

    Thanks for the running tips! I am fairly new at running ... Started back in May (I think haha) but my mind is not very sharp as of late so it may have been earlier than that :-) Once I consistently hit my 5k I started to lose interest but that's all coming back and my new goal is 5 miles in an hour and/or 4.8 mph. (I can do 4.7 with a few breaks) It will certainly take some time but I'll try the speed increase tips. Doing that usually results in me going to more interval training but I'll get there soon enough! Grats again on the 6 miles!

    Thank you for commenting on my blog! I've been pondering this issue a lot lately, and realized that I need to let go of the mommy-guilt. DD is a very easy-going kid... she's thrilled to hang out with me, whether that's playing at home or singing songs in the stroller. The angst is all on my side!
