I am not sedentary but I do not get enough exercise. I am increasing my activity level in the new year. I try to eat organic. I am dairy and gluten intolerant. I have been eating plant-based for a couple months. I have been here and back a few times in the last few years. I need to find a lifestyle that works for me.

Fitness Minutes: 14,853

My Goals:
Feel Strong, Get Healthy. Lose between 40 and 60 lbs. Get into a size 6 (maybe and 8 if it looks good) skinny is not a goal of mine. Increase my activity level so that I feel good. Reduce my blood pressure to stay out of the pre-hypertensive range. Get much much stronger.

My Program:
Eat lots of vegetables. Cut out most processed food. Radically reduce simple refined carbs. I do not add any sugar to anything. I do add a sweetened organic nut creamer to my coffee. Pay attention to what I put in my mouth, getting enough rest and enough water. Walk. Walk. Walk. This time around I am also radically increasing by meatless meals.

Personal Information:
I try not to consume dairy, gluten, or MSG. They are allergy and migraine triggers for me. Since I have been off of them I have been able to discontinue even antihistamines which I have taken since early childhood. I love to cook and am not afraid to try new things. Yes, I can do a complete Italian, Greek, Mexican, or Asian meal without dairy or gluten now let's see how many I can do both organic and meatless :)

Other Information:
I am going to try and upload a lot of pictures. I have always been camera shy and had not even updated my facebook photo in a decade. Feeling comfortable with my appearance is one of my side goals.

    Nice job on your blog. Congratulations on BMI number below 30. It feels great to get out of the obese range (I have been there!!!). My doctor also doesn't go entirely by the chart. He did say to definitely be below 30, but I was surprised he gave me a higher than recommended do not go below number. You are doing fantastic!

    Congratulations on your category downgrade into "overweight". The BMI chart really is a crock of nonsense--overall, but I still remember the feeling of moving on the chart. My doctor said I was not overweight when it got to 154 (despite the chart)--but still 10 months later and I just reached a weight that the BMI calls normal--and I am pretty dang excited.

    There are so many things wrong with that BMI it is ridiculous!

    Thank your comment on my blog. I am over the moon with health good news-- there were many times when I was discouraged and threw in the towel for a season (or two)--but ultimately I knew I had to get a grip.

    I lost about 120 lbs-- it took me 11 years. I have spent the last year in the fine tuning stage. Meaning, time to make the healthiest choices so that my insides are as lean as my outsides. I do not want to become a TOFI (thin outside, fat inside)--time to clean up the fat that surrounds the organs. I tell you this so that you don't quit. Keep your focus and know you are worth it! It does not matter how long it takes you to get there--you can make it!
