Hi and welcome to my Spark Page!

Whatever comes up, make your first thought “What would I do if I knew I could not fail?”

IF I KNEW THAT I WOULD NOT
FAIL I WOULD:

1. Lose 1o3 .lbs the healthy way.
2.
3. Learn to Swim
4. Finish my Education degree
5. Get to the bottom of all the
stumbling blocks to my happiness and weight loss.

Current Goal: Lose 10.lbs by 03/027/12.
Mid Goal: Lose 50+ .lbs by .
Ultimate Goal: Reached by 02/07/13

I'm over worked, stressed, and have had tremendous obstacles in my life in recent years. So I packed the pounds on. Now, I need to do this for me so I can live life, enjoy life now, and stop waiting for some elusive event to happen to make my life perfect. I will succeed!!!
"The joy of the Lord is my strength."

My two new mantras are:
"When you stand still, you reject the struggle, and you refuse to change and grow. ULTIMATELY, you REJECT FULFILLMENT, HAPPINESS, THE DANCE FOR JOY AND everything else that is eternally good." Matthew Kelly

*Live life at its fullest,
*Laugh at the things that don't matter,
*Love with all you have & more.

I started working on me before Spark people. I joined a women's social club, weight watchers, started seeing a relationship coach, and a (Christian therapist (because I was overwhelmed by recent tragedies & setbacks in my life) that I just couldn't handle on my own). I was struggling! Then I found Spark people and with the added support and motivation I get here my weight loss has been jumped started. My attitude and the way I deal with things have changed for the better. I know I can succeed at what ever comes now!! I need that daily motivation and challenge I get here.

How did it get to this point? I was a sick child, missed a lot of school. I didn't even know food had a taste until I was 8 and had my tonsials removed. My mom was so happy to see me eat that she gave me what ever I asked for. Soon I didn't want to stop even when mom tried to tell me that I was getting heavy. I felt hurt, unloved by her, and thought she didn't want me to have it. It was the first time I had failed her, my Hero. I guess that was my first experience with failure. My greatest fear is failure and the perfectionist in me (got that from mom too) can't accept failure. So I eat to console myself of any disapproval. That is changing today with this step of admitting that I need to reframe my destructive thoughts and start living, instead of waiting for life to happen to me because I love the dance of life and to get my dance on!

Proverbs 3:5-7 MSG ~ Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track. Don't assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life!

Whatever comes up, make your first thought “What would I do if I knew I could not fail?”

IF I KNEW THAT I WOULD NOT FAIL I WOULD:
choose to reframe my thinking
choose to live
choose to move forward not back
choose to be healthy
choose to work hard for what I want
choose not to be negative
choose me
choose to be successful
choose to lose weight
I choose all of the above!!!

Personal Information:
Teacher assistant from NC.

I am a Member of the Lumbee tribe of Native Americans in NC. The Lumbees are descendents of the "Lost Colony" and possibly the Croatian Indian tribe. Which would make us ( I guess descendents of Sir Walter Raleigh), since his daughter and granddaughter were among the missing. Who knows, but I do love a great mystery don't you.

Other Information:
My passions are worshiping and praising God first, my family, praying, teaching, studying the Bible, reading all kinds of things. I studied interior decorating and merchandising. I love art, flowers, nature, gardening, DIY projects and teaching. I can do almost any home repair and I even built my head board for my bed. I love teaching and helping others to reach their goals.

Hey there, Sybil! Nice to "meet" you!

Thanks so much for visiting my page and for the sweet compliments! I don't really see it as having been through all that much nor do I feel that lots has been accomplished. I just try to take 1 day at a time right now... God is my strength and, believe me, it's HIM, not me!! : )

I read your page as well... you've come a long ways too! Being a single parent's not an easy task (I've been there too!) and living in the past will surely mess with your mind - spiritually, mentally, and physically. God has already forgiven all that and today (every day) is a brand new day (praise Him for that!!)! You are a very pretty woman with lots to look forward to... go get it!!

Which NC/SC border do you live on? I lived near the border too - just on the edge of Spartanburg/Hendersonville but also near Gaffney/Charlotte. Small world, huh?

Happy exercising to you too! And BIG HUGS back atcha!!

How did sparking go today? Did you just add that photo of you at 40, or did I just notice? Your eyes are happy in that picture, and of course you look radiant...glamming is right!

Thanks for the note on my page. I got a migraine today in the afternoon and felt like I caused it by putting so much pressure on myself. Thanks for being there and reminding me to celebrate and accept. This does not mean change goals.

Thank you so much for your comment! It really means alot! My family is major sabotage too! As i was getting my organic frozen mangos out of the freezer for my smoothie a moment ago, i noticed the ice cream cake that was dropped off earlier this week! I am now avoiding it like the plague! lol
I do know the story of jonas & the whale, and junk food is definitely my whale!

Today is another day, the cake has passed.. now enjoy some nice fruit & yogurt & move forward with your success :)

I really appreciate your words of wisdom, they certainly help in a time where Ice Cream cake is calling my name!

Happy Weight Loss & Enjoy your Monday!

How is your day going? I have been spending so much time these first few days Sparking, that Monday brings a new reality - work! but the results have been gratifying. I keep finding nuances of thinking that sabotaged previous diets. I took your words about "must do it" to heart and am building that idea stronger every day.

    Thanks for sharing your strength!
