Introduction Text 2015 Update: SparkPeople has been a part of my success in health endeavors every time I've tried since 2011. It works. Now I have to work! 2011: Hello friends! I'm starting my journey of changing from within. A new friend who is a kindred spirit turned me on to SparkPeople by giving me a copy of the book. I started reading it one week before I joined the website. I can truly say I'm excited and that is a special and welcome feeling. I hope to become more present, healthy, and energetic for myself and my own sanity but also for the people I serve. I have two Masters degrees. One is in Social Work and the other is in Human Sexuality Education. I work in the field of addictions. I'm hoping to make some new friends, create motivation, lose weight, gain health, inspire others, turn off the negative self talk, and start hearing sweet sounds of success all around me. I have 2 cats and they are awesome! MEOW I had knee surgery in the middle of 2013. I gained a lot (literally & figuratively). My knee has never been the same but I'm still blessed and I will figure out what works for me. I had 3(yes 3) hand surgeries in 2014. I experience much less pain and I am very grateful! Systemically I have some challenges but I'm determined to find my new best health and best me!
