My name is Swelenn and I'm 28 years old. I have been away from SparkPeople for a little while now, especially since I got pregnant. My son is two years old and I am way overdue for some weight loss.. If anyone has any ideas on how I can stay motivated, I welcome any suggestions.

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to develop a healthy eating habit that I can carry with me throughout my entire life. I know that as I get older, my metabolism will slow down. Therefore, I would like to be prepared and already aware of the healthy way to be before I get there.

My Program:
I have begun drinking a lot more water than usual. In addition, I have cut out the soda. I still eat sweets, but in moderation. I have signed up to the gym as well. If for any reason I don't have time to go to the gym, I will workout at home with a workout video and my weight machine. Anything is better than nothing. I know that I still have a lot more to accomplish and change. But I know that I will get there slowly.

Personal Information:
I am Brazilian but was raised in Florida. Where I was born as well as where I was raised both make a big deal of how you look. Florida is the sunshine state where everyone always has a bikini under their clothes and there's a gym on every corner. Image is everything. Brazil is the same thing. Most girls have the cute bodies with the tight low-cut pants. If you don't look like them, you won't fit in. It's tough to live in a world where image is so important. Unfortunately, there's not much that can be done about it. All we have to do is deal with it, take care of our bodies and be happy with ourselves no matter what.

    Hi!! I have been MIA for years and still dealing with this weight struggle but I think I got it down mentally now!! I think I "get it" and why I have not been truly successful... I hope all is well! :)

    Thanks for stopping by my page. All I can really tell you is to stay focused on your goals. Setting small goals will help you stay on track and reach the weight loss you want. Just remind yourself everyday why your doing this and that will help you as well.

    No worries girl...I have been too lately. Life is busy! Leaving for Portugal until May (tomorrow). I went low carb 11 weeks ago and that's really helped shed the weight. Good luck with the last 20lbs! You'll get there!
