I am a grandma looking forward to seeing my grandchildren grown and maybe someday holding my great-grandchildren. I presently have 2 grandsons who live within 3 blocks of my house and 2 granddaughters who have been living with me and papa for 7 years. We have 2 grandsons about 11/2 hours away and another grandson in another state. I woke up finally realizing that if I don't make some healthy changes in my life, I may not see these guys graduate from high school. Not acceptable! I have type 2 diabetes (Dec 2009), high blood pressure and high cholesterol (2002 maybe), arthritis in my right hip, asthma, and several allergies. Changes have to be made.

I am looking forward to a healthier me. I am looking forward to many more years to spend with my family. I am looking forward...

Joined Spark People in 2007, but was not an active member until 6/2011 - Today is 05/11/12, I have been away from SparkPeople for several months. I have gained back all the weight I had lost. Time to get back on track.

    There's tons, but my fave is strawberries, lemon and grapefruit. There's also mint, cucumber, lemon. There's ginger, lemon and ACV or ginger lemon and honey or mint. Just put ingredients with water night before in fridge and drink next day.

    I decided to look up recipes for turkey and use what was left of the meat. My family enjoyed it and that is all that counts.

    Hi there ....thanks for stopping by my blog.
    I was anti Tofu for the longest time....but I have been experimenting with Asian dishes (in order to eat more veggies) and I decided to give Tofu one more try. Its very easy but I learned that you should try to press the water out, that marinating gives it flavor, that frying in with a drizzle of olive oil gives the texture a better quality, and adding lots of veggies makes it a full meal.

    Next time I'm going to press the water out AND freeze it...I'm told that gives tofu a meaty texture (like chicken). But I think using extra firm tofu is the key.
