Hey SP!

My name is Alethea and my journey to better health began back in May 2009. I joined, got active, and got off to an amazing start, but lost focus a few months in and regained the little bit of weight that I did manage to lose. In the few years following my regain, I was sporadically active, one moment gung ho, then the next, a no show. I kept asking myself: "What GIVES?! Why is this weight not FLYING off? Like, TODAY already??" Little did I know that that was not the most important factor in this journey....

Disappointed with my rate of progress, I once again broke my commitment. Needless to say, I got bigger. Not only did I get bigger, I became more dissatisfied with life than ever. They always say that some people are their own worst critic, but I would take it further than that. Not only did I criticize, I (mentally) beat up, kicked around, then yelled at myself for not following through with the numerous plans, workouts, etc. that I had tried. I ended up spiraling into a deep depression. I no longer wanted to participate socially, had no interest in living life, none existent self worth, zero self esteem...you get my drift.

During my time in seclusion, I began reading/studying/analyzing just about every health and wellness topic imaginable. Through all of the hours I dedicated to learning, I really began to realize the critical role my mental health played in my quest for weight management and personal growth.

It then became clear: I needed to clear out all of the hoarded negativity and baggage from my (mental) attic before I could settle into a new home (body). I attempted traditional therapy...but for some reason it felt off. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I began treating my mind like a subject at school. The more I dug up and studied about my inner self, the more I was able to release and come to terms with suppressed issues. From frequent early childhood sexual abuse, to failed relationships, overwhelming guilt, crippling fears and programmed self-doubts, there was nothing that I didn't face head on. The work was hard...I'm sorry, excruciating...and honestly I didn't think I would make it through. But I did. I did because I took it one step at a time and released things in my own way.

At this point in my life, I feel I have finally gotten back in touch with my true self. I now understand that my purpose in this life is to help others to break free from the mental prison I was once in, so that we all may blossom and come into who we were truly meant to be. =) I am here to love, help, teach and guide everyone I come into contact with back to the peace and inner tranquility we were all born with, and with things the way they are in the world today, I feel there is no better time than now to make things right!

I love to motivate and be motivated so buddies are always welcome, the more the merrier! LET'S GO!!!

I'm so glad someone created the TapouT XT Team. I don't officially have my DVD's yet but will be soon. I can't wait to start them. I know it's going to be tough as I've got alot of weight to loose, but will be SO worth it in the end.

    Thanks again! emoticon emoticon
