Wow! 2020 Just keeps on punching doesn't it?!

I don't know about you, but I had such high hopes for 2020!

It was such a nice round number! I had a great family and good friends. My job was going well and I was starting to think about retirement and when that was going to happen. I was absolutely certain that this year would be the year I'd finally get in control of my life and live it as a strong, healthy, normal weight woman!

This year has been so full of heartache, but I keep fervently hoping that things will get better. I'm determined to get back up every time this year knocks me down!

Only three more months left to try to salvage something positive from 2020. The best part about that goal is that it is totally within my own power to make it happen. Twelve more weeks! Why wait for New Year's Day to make a resolution for a happier healthier life.

Today is the day!
Why Wait!!??!!

My Goals:
I've yo-yo'd for years now and so over the emotional roller coaster that goes along with that.

I've learned a lot of lessons over the years and I now know that moderation is the key. No more crazy fad diets, excessive exercise or anything unhealthy.

My goal this year is to be kind to myself and slowly but steadily get to my goal weight of 135 to 140 lbs. I'm 5'5" - I think that's just the right weight range to be fit and healthy but not skinny which is what I plan to be within the next year so that by the time I'm retired, I can travel and explore without having to sit anything out because I'm not fit enough to do it.

My Program:
Being kind to myself, but not making excuses either!

Getting some sort of exercise in every day! Getting outside to enjoy nature.

Walking, strength training, body weight exercises, dancing, yoga and doing my own yard work will be a part of my life from now on.

Eating delicious and nutritious food most of the time with a treat every now and then being careful to track even when I get off track. lol

Keeping an eye on the scale but not beating myself up if I don't like what I see.

This is a journey with all of the twists and turns that entails.

I'm ready!

Personal Information:
Day job - Number Cruncher

Passion - Writing

Proud Mom - One Son

Determined to get fit and healthy!

I believe that getting fit and healthy is 80% diet and 20% exercise!

Other Information:
Writer, lover of books, movies, stories of all sorts, but especially enjoy reading and writing historical fiction, science fiction and fantasy.

Renaissance Faires fascinate me. Who doesn't love a good joust? Horses and knights in shining armor all at once! Sigh.

Hey there. Thanks so much for adding me as a friend! I know how that force field can be! What helped me break through one of my MAJOR force fields was changing up my exercise routine a little. I changed up the times I walked, how I walked, when I lifted weights, what muscle groups I worked on. I added more cardio. I went45-60 mins without stopping: On my bicycle, or stationary bike, walking outside or treadmill, or elliptical, or whatever cardio you can do, I'd suggest kicking it up a notch or 2! Also I went meatless a couple days a week. That gave me a better awareness of what i was eating and put my nutrition back in the forefront of my thinking. Keep your positive attitude! that will carry you through! Best wishes to you for continued success and finding what works for you! Let me know how I can be of any help to you moving forward! YOU CAN DO THIS! God Bless! Rick emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Sorry it took me this long to respond to your comment. I just don't check my page enough I guess.

Not a ranch, but a farm yes. We have about 80 acres. We raise sheep. (and one cow and one pig). Keeps me busy along with a full time city job.

HMMM retire - don't think that is going to happen in my life.

    Have a wonderful day.
