There's really no secret to it is there? lol

We all know what to do, it's just the doing that creates the issues. ;-)

I really appreciate the support I've gotten from my Spark Friends over the years, so now it's my turn to help and support in any way I can as we continue this journey together.

My Goals:
I've yo-yo'd for years now and so over the emotional roller coaster that goes along with that.

I've learned a lot of lessons over the years and I now know that moderation is the key. No more crazy fad diets, excessive exercise or anything unhealthy.

My goal this year is to be kind to myself and slowly but steadily get to my goal weight of 140-145 lbs. I'm 5'5" - I think that's just the right weight range to be fit and healthy but not skinny which is what I plan to be within the next year so that by the time I'm 60 yrs old, I can travel and explore without having to sit anything out because I'm not fit enough to do it.

My Program:
Being kind to myself, but not making excuses either!

Getting some sort of exercise in every day but Sunday, my day of rest.

Walking, strength training, body weight exercises, dancing, yoga and hopefully some swimming if I can find a good place, will be a part of my life from now on.

Eating delicious and nutritious food most of the time with a treat every now and then being careful to track even when I get off track. lol

Keeping an eye on the scale but not beating myself up if I don't like what I see.

This is a journey with all of the twists and turns that entails.

I'm ready!

Writer, lover of books, movies, stories of all sorts, but especially enjoy reading and writing historical fiction, science fiction and fantasy.

Renaissance Faires fascinate me. Who doesn't love a good joust? Horses and knights in shining armor all at once! Sigh.

    Hi there, Thanks for the sweet words on my blog. I will add you as a friend too! As far as advice for twins, I think one of the greatest notionsconcepts that my Mom kept in her head was that we were individuals. We would always be twins, and that was special, but that we were also seperate individuals. She and my Dad always encouraged us to think and act on our own. They insisted that we were always put in seperate classrooms at school. We needed to know that we were whole alone. Hope that makes sense.

    For my healtheir Reuben, I used thin sliced corned beef from the deli (watch the sodium though...), yogurt-based Thousand Island dressing, 2% cheese, and 2 slices of whole grain bread. Spread with light butter/margarine and grill it for a melt. mmmm. Forgot the sauerkraut though! :( Served it with roasted asparagus instead of fries or chips.

    thanks for the comment on my blog...I guess we've all done things that were ill-advised at some point. This morning was quite a scare though...thought I'd collapse on the street :( Not even any ID on me or my medic-alert bracelet...NADA! So much for "impulse walking" haha.
