I'm Tharaa from Egypt. I have an amazing husband, two wonderful kids and a great job. I really thank God for all these blessings.

I've been ALWAYS overweight, never been slim. I always had thoughts that this is me, this is my body, a big one, there's no way to change it and that I will never be slim or normal-weight. I was settled and living in peace with that. But, having extra 5 kg -which was me before marriage- is totally different from having extra 25 kg.

Starting 2007, I managed to lose 20 kgs and maintained for 2 years, as well as improving my fitness level a lot.... It felt really wonderful then. Unfortunately, during 2009, I stopped working out almost completely, and regained 10 kgs to be 74 kgs now, January 2010. I DON'T WANT TO BE 84 AGAIN!!! This is my 2010 resolution, to be 64 kgs again and regain my high fitness level.

So, losing 10 - 12 kgs in a year .... sounds easy, right?

Here is the new -slow- plan:

End of Feb 2010: 71 kgs
End of Mar 2010: 69 kgs
End of April 2010: 67 kgs
End of May 2010: 66 kgs
End of Jun 2010: 65 kgs
End of Aug 2010: 64 kgs
End of Oct 2010: 63 kgs
End of Nov 2010: 62 kgs

My Goals:
-Improve my health, fitness and energy level.
-Look better and fit in my old cloths.
-Lose 12 Kg by the end of 2010.
-Play Squash again and find time to play it on a regular basis, especially with my daughter.
-Be a good example to my kids.


My Program:
-Cook healthier food:
stop frying, stop using butter,cream and mayo, use skinless chicken, use extra lean beef, switch to olive oil, cook more veggies, find healthier alternative, use new healthy recepies.

-Eat healthier food:
rely on complex carbs rather than simple carbs, eat more fresh veggies and fruits, make healthier choices when dinning out, have a healthier grocery list, eat MUCH LESS chocolate and plan for it first.

-Track what I eat on a daily basis to know if I'm on track or not.

-Improve my fitness A LOT:
go to the gym 5-6 times a week, work out with different trainers for varity, improve my running speed by training on the treadmill, play squash again.



Personal Information:
From Alexandria, Egypt. A project manager in a software house. Married since 2001 and have a daugther and a son. I'm 1.60 meters long and my weight when I started for the second timewas 74 kg.


Other Information:
I love reading and I really wish I have enough time for it.

I love watching movies and I can watch a good movie tens of times.

My favourite sport is Squash, I love it but haven't played it at all for over 6 years, and I'm planning to get back to the game.

I love stitching, knitting and crocheting.

I'm addicted to chocolate which is my very weak point; I can't stay steady at home as long as there's a piece of chocolate around.

I love fast food and dinning out and I never tried to make healthy choices about it in the past but I'm working on it. My favourites are good italian restaurants and Hardee's.

I love cooking, especially desserts!!
