Introduction Text I've been fat my whole life. It's time to live differently. 05/17/2020 - My husband died on April 7th. I'm trying to figure out how to move forward. Right now my goal is to walk enough to stay active and to eat low carb most of the time while I continue with intermittent fasting. Other than that, I'm taking it hour by hour. 2016 - I did not make any measurable progress in 2016. I did not lose weight, and I actually put back on almost 10 pounds by the end of the year. I increased the intensity and variety of my workouts, adding in some strength, yoga, and pilates; but my weight still didn't want to go down. I also dealt with lots of pain in both feet, hopefully cured now thanks to custom orthotics. My clothing size has stayed the same. I will admit that I did not adhere to my low-carb eating nearly as often as I should have. So maybe it's true what I've read... that what you eat matters a lot more than how you workout. Now I'm back to my Trim Healthy Mama eating plan and continuing with my workouts. As for my health, other than my feet, I feel great; and I have none of the problems that I was dealing with a couple of years ago. I'm still very thankful for good health. Reboot... Again: I was doing very well with weight loss until December 2013. I got sick with some type of cough/virus and just never fully recovered. I spent months coughing and having constant nasal drainage. I was hospitalized in May 2014 with pneumonia and what doctors thought was severe asthma. Then we moved the week after I came home from the hospital (on oxygen). In July 2014 I was diagnosed with a Spontaneous CSF Leak. So all of my nasal drainage was actually spinal fluid. Aspiration of drainage had led to all of my lung problems. I had surgery over Labor Day weekend 2014 to close the hole in my skull and stop the leak. Recovery was a lot harder than I thought it would be, probably because I had been sick for nearly a year and my body was just completely run down. I didn't feel like myself again until December 2014. It feels so good to be healthy again, and I'm so thankful to be able to breathe "normally". Some things you just take for granted until they are taken away. Now I'm trying to get back in my groove. It's been slow going, but I'm still moving forward. Reboot: I wasn't "sparking" very much for half of 2011 and all of 2012, so I gained back most of the 25 pounds that I lost. On July 1, 2013, I started back on my journey to better health. This time my whole family is eating on plan, meaning we all follow the guidelines set forth in the book TRIM HEALTHY MAMA. It's been wonderful. We've all lost weight. I haven't started back with exercise yet, but I know that I need to get with it. That will be my next step. I am so thankful that in 2010 I started this journey to better health and fitness. Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you. I was honored to be chosen Done Girl of the Day for February 1, 2011.

Goal 1: Exercise every day for 100 days (DONE 10/13/10) (DONE 04/09/11) Goal 2: Be healthy and active with my family (DONE 06/02/16) Goal 3: Get out of the plus sizes (DONE 03/01/16) Goal 4: Lose 25 pounds by October 1, 2013 (DONE 12/17/13) Goal 5: Lose 50 pounds by June 15, 2015 (DONE July 16, 2015) Goal 6: Lose 75 pounds by January 1, 2016 (DONE February 1, 2016) Goal 7: Lose 100 pounds by May 1, 2016

I drink at least 10 cups of water every day. I exercise 3-4 days a week. I usually follow the TRIM HEALTHY MAMA plan for eating. I mostly eat low carb and avoid sugar; I never drink soft drinks. I enjoy splurge meals/crossovers on special occasions or when I think they are really worth it. This is a LIFEstyle, after all, not a diet.

I am a Christian, a retired homeschooling mother, and both of my children started college in the fall of 2019. I work in medical coding/billing. My home will always be in Alabama, but I currently live in South Carolina. My husband was a Pastor. He died in April 2020.

In 2010 I learned how to knit. I met with a group of ladies at a local tea room once a week to knit and have tea until I moved in June 2014. Traveling is my favorite!
