Hi my name is Trudie. My life has been a crazy journey, full of ups and downs. I spent a lot of years sad and depressed and allowed myself to gain a lot of weight, all the way up to 250 pounds. I couldn't get out of the spiral of eating because I was depressed and being depressed because I hated how I looked and felt. I tried so many times to lose the weight, so many different diets, diet pills and weight lose gimmicks. Some worked and some didn't. I'm sure I've lost hundreds of pounds over the years to only gain them back plus some. I just couldn't seem to conquer what was driving me to eat. I had managed to lose 50 lbs. in the early part of 2010, right before my daughter blessed me with a beautiful grandbaby. The joy was short lived as she had some health complications that last several months and again I turned to food to cope. I gained 25 pounds, I was stressed and depressed and again felt hopeless. She however has better and thriving but I couldn't seem to get out of my funk. Then the pain started, my knees were giving out at 45 years old I was told that I needed both knees replaced but was way too young and the doctor wouldn't do the surgery. He told me to lose weight and exercise. I couldn't get around like I want too, every step was painful, getting in and out of the car was painful, sleeping was painful, I couldn't get down on the floor to play with my grandbaby. The real scare came when I was waking through the house carrying the baby, me knee gave out and I almost fell. I knew I had to do something or I was never going to be able to enjoy this precious little girl or the rest of my life. My doctor sent me to physical therapy and I started eating healthier. Next thing I know I am down 10 pounds and my knees are starting to feel a little better so I decided to start going to the gym. At first all I could do at the gym was ride the stationary bike and upper body weights, the more weight I lost the better I felt and the more I could do in the gym. I am now down 96 pounds, I take a kickboxing class and work out several days a week. I have went from a size 24 to a size 8. It has taken me years but I know will get to my goal before the end of summer.
