I am a 60 year old woman embarking on a dietary lifestyle, consisting of higher fat and lower carbs. Balance and tiny steps are of the utmost importance to me. I practice mixed media art journaling, writing, photography and jewelry making. I reside in St. Pete, FL with my husband, hound and two frisky felines.
I am a 60 year old woman embarking on a dietary lifestyle, consisting of higher fat and lower carbs. Balance and tiny steps are of the utmost importance to me. My Goals:
I would like to reduce my triglycerides and body mass index. 135 pound maintained weight. It would be nice to free myself from blood pressure and cholesterol medications but that is for down the road.
My Program:
Exploring a coconut keto diet. Building a more varied diet. Exploring new foods, smoothies, protein powders and recipes.
Personal Information:
I lead a sedentary/light activity lifestyle at this time. I do not like to prep or cook but I know I will need to do so. I turned 60 this year and am thinking toward retirement, relocating and downsizing. Nearly two years ago I began to alter my diet and took Farxiga due to abnormal liver panels. As a result I lost 30 pounds with portion control, sugar reduction, etc. After stopping Farxiga in Jan 2016 I began to slowly regain weight and Dr. recently told me to "cut the carbs" which I didn't want to do. My friend is on the coconut keto plan, doing wonderfully well and when her blood results came back much improved after four months, I decided to make changes.
