Hi, thanks for stopping by my blog earlier! Yep, doctor visit by computer is kind of a new-fangled thing, but is used a lot here in rural areas... or in my case, the naturopathic oncologist is located in the Kansas City metro and that's several hours drive one way. The population is aging and many can't afford to travel long distances or don't have a car or can't drive or public transportation isn't always as accessible as it could be, even if one lives in a big city like NY or Chicago or LA etc. So..."tele-medicine". Different states have different rules - usually they require a doctor to have either met the client in person, face to face, in their office before they do tele-medicine visits, or they have to at least see them face to face on a computer program if they are out of state, before doing phone visits or visits by app etc (like when I was on the diabetes management program at VirtaHealth.com ). You could ask around at your doctor's office to see if the option is available for you or your family members. I wish we could have had access to tele-medicine doctor visits back in the days when we were doing eldercare with my husband's parents, as the commute back and forth from Kansas to Oklahoma was a doozy!!
