I'll be honest- I'm fed up with caring about my weight.
I think we've all felt this way, sometimes even while the scale is heading down. We think about a future where we count every grain of rice and head directly for that tub of ice cream to scare those thoughts out of our heads.

I'm learning to focus on bigger goals that will improve my health.
On March 25, 2012 I competed my first half marathon. I managed to gain between 10-15lbs during the training, and lost 2 inches at my waist. I took the training to heart, and learned how to run and *enjoy* myself. I took the core workout and made it a nightly practice. I took the concepts of cross-training, LSR, speed work and hill work and made them my reality. I went from jogging barely 2 miles to finishing a half marathon in just about 5 months, and all with a positive attitude while raising money for an amazing charity.

My next big goal is a continuation of the first. I want to complete at least 3 more races in 2012.
This includes the Kuai'i Half Marathon (9/2) and two other 10k/12k foot races.
Since I want to get FASTER (And get under 3 hours for the next half marathon!)- I'll be focusing on that as a goal, so dropping a bit of the extra flub will be helpful in that. It all works together, but this is more digestible for me.

    Likley this will be the last challenge posting on our Spark pages? We will start a team this week. More info to come I am sure.

    Anyway... I believe I have the final numbers in for this past weekend’s challenge.... so here they are...and by the way, the Kimster has won her 3rd Cal Burn title in as many weeks...though we also now have a newly minted winner in Challenge #1 ~ Chris!

    Ok all, this weekend’s challenge is going out a bit late (especially for Kim as she’s already off of work as she gets this)....but here it is...

    Challenge:
    What #1 - Abs. 1st one to 1,000. (based on your time zone) The exercise can by any of your choice...it just has to involve your abs somehow (i.e., crunches, twisty thingys, having someone constantly punch you I the gut, we don’t care...so long as it is abdominal related!)

    What #2 - Calories burned (same as previous weeks...using Spark tracker, HRM, intuition, however you want to count it).

    When - Friday after work until Sunday midnight.

    Prize - Your aka name of choice. For me, it will be "King of the World". By the way, we still do not have aka names for Ashupe1, or for Veachxcl.

    PS ~ Likely we will set up a team for these challenges...more to come on this by next Monday I hope.

    PPS ~ Good luck all....gooooo challenge!

    Ok, I think I have the final numbers in for this past weekend’s challenge....though have not heard from the Margolicious One yet. But before letting you all know the winner, I will say that I do INDEED have a spreadsheet going. A spiffy self-calculating one...with colors. I have been meaning to post it in a blog at some point, just for entertainment value hahaha...but it has all your names, so I have not done so yet.

    What I did want to let you all know is that I took it upon myself to account for multiple titles that can be won in each weekend challenge category. (Oh hell...now this is getting downright freakin confusing...good thing nerdy Greg has a spreadsheet going...)

    For the challenge that normally involves doing the most of an exercise (or a 1,000 if we chose that route), the prize is bragging rights and the title of your choice. For instance, Kim’s would be “Her Excellency” (I have taken away “Your Hotness” as you will see it is the winning title of our other weekend challenge hahahaha.) If someone wins the weekend challenge in this category more than once, levels will be assigned. Sooo...say the Paminator wins a couple times. Then her title would be, “Empress, Level I”....then “Empress, Level II”...and so on.

    For the other challenge, the Calorie Burn one...this is where the “Hotness” title comes into play. The 5 levels are:
    Your Hotness
    Your Hotness - Sizzling Hot
    Your Hotness – Snap, Crackle, and Pop Bayyybeee
    Your Hotness – Spontaneous Combustion
    Your Hotness – Extra Crispy

    Have I put wayyyyyy too much thought into this? You betcha! I figure I can put my energies into finding a more efficient and environmentally friendly travel mode...or this. And I chose the latter!

    Anyway, so here are this weekend’s #’s....and by the way, the Kimster has won her 2nd Cal Burn title in as many weeks....

    Ok...just an update...so far today I have not done any lats or cal burn...but that's because wifey and I are going to the gym tonight.

    So far for the weekend though, I have a measly 80 on the lats/shoulders...but over 800 on cal burn.

    I have #'s for the Pamminator...partial #'s from Kimster and from Veachxcl....how are your faring?

    And...don't recall seeing #'s from the Gypsy Queen. And...Margy, I thought you sent me some cal burn #s...?

    By the way, Pammeister...keep going on the cal burn...don't let the extra days stop you!

    Good going all.

    And yes...I am using my freakin spreadsheet to track all this hahahaha.
