Introduction Text Life has seemed discombobulated since I last updated my SparkPage, and SparkPeople has been pushed to the background. Not good, motivation-wise. The good news is that I was able to shed 25 pounds between last July and January, thanks to Healthy Wage and my daughter's faithful encouragement. Five of those pounds sneaked back on, so now I'm working to send them packing, along with ten of their buddies. I figure that this is a perfect time to get back to the healthy advice, tools and support that are found here.

My goals are: 1. To get 8 hours of sleep every night 2. To drink those 8 glasses of water every day 3. To track my nutrition through SparkPeople 4. To do strength-training exercises at least four times a week 5. To walk at least 2 miles three times a week, as Bum Knee allows, and 6. To lose 15 pounds by August 1, 2020.

Using SparkPeople, re-calculate the caloric intake and output required to lose desired amount of weight. Log in daily to track nutrition and physical activity, as tracking tools greatly improve the likelihood of success.

I am a fervent supporter of many environmental causes, especially the protection of wild places and publicly-accessible natural lands. As a local preserve (pictured on this page) is under threat of disruption because of a proposed expressway, I realize that it's time to get involved – to speak up and speak out.
