Heya! Thanks for mentioning the 'slimming' of waist/thighs. Looking again, it does look like a decent improvement (especially considering I weigh the same, lol).
I'm kinda lovin' C25K, too. I did something similar a couple years ago, but this time I weigh less and have stronger legs--it's a huuuuge difference.
P90x is great *if* you have the time. It's a huge commitment, which I managed in the first month, but after I got out of the habit it's been hard to restart.
I wrote a(nother) super long blog after my first week of p90x: http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu blic_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=48 04101 It probably won't have useful info for you, so I'll give you a cliff notes review:
- If you make the commitment, print up the schedule/note sheets. Initially, I found a cute excel worksheet to keep track of things, but I find having the physical notes and calendar are a lot better. Crossing of the days as you do them is great.
- Having nice equipment and a lot of space makes it easier, but I've managed to modify as I need. I only have 5lb weights and a couple of bands. Initially, I looped the bands around a plastic dollar store 'over the door clothes hook' that I had, but after breaking both of those, I upgraded to a band set that had a door extension ($30 on eBay). Good gym shoes are needed, but I get away without wearing any half the time. My space to workout is 3.5' x 7', which is annoying to maneuver but manageable for most of the exercises.
- Some exercises are really tough. You can always pause the videos and catch your breath. I've done more difficult workouts on my own, but the kick with p90x is that you *consistently* do the tough workouts.
If you're going to go for it, let me know! I'd love to watch your progress. 3217 days ago
