I'm John, a 40-year old male in excellent health, except that I weigh about 400 lbs. I've recently made the decision to better myself with diet and exercise, and a friend clued me into PeopleSpark, so I'm here to find support and advice and to encourage others to get on the track to good health!

UPDATE: 6 July 2009
Most recently, I took a bad tumble from the wagon, as it were. I stopped cutting portions, slacked off on my gym visits, and just generally let myself go. I think that, in large part, it was due to my depression. I hit a low period and just could not find the energy or incentive to watch what I eat and exercise regularly.

I felt particularly bad because I had let so many people down on this site, for whom I had been a source of inspiration. That's why I stayed away for so long. I was embarrased to show my face around here (metaphysically speaking, of course).

But I'm bazck, and this time to stay. I look at this as starting over; hence my starting weight has been reset. I've been to see a dietician, and with her help, I think I might actually be able to do this.

My Goals:
I want to get back into fighting trim.

My Program:
I'm trying to stay within 1,800 calories a day and going to the gym three to five days a week for strength training and cardio.

Other Information:
I'm Wiccan, I read science-fiction and fantasy, and I enjoy fantasy/sci-fi and horror television and movies. I also have two weekly role-playing groups that meets on Friday and Saturday nights.
