It has been almost two years since I stopped smoking for good. Over that time I have gained and lost a horrendous amount of weight. Two months ago I realized I weighed nearly 240 lbs and my health was beginning to suffer for it.

I've been to see my doctor and we have discussed what I can do to improve my health; the tests have all been done, we're just waiting for the results.

In the mean time I have started walking every day - joined a program at work called The Amazing Race where we track our progress and virtually 'walk' across the African Continent. We walk in teams of 4, first team to reach the end of the trail wins fabulous fitness prizes. You can see my personal progress in my signature.

I also started dancing in the spring (beginner hip-hop) and fully intend to enroll in the 30-week recital program in the autumn. Who knows...maybe you'll see me on "So You Think You Can Dance" next year ;o)

I have been struggling with my weight for a number of years now. Funny thing is I used to be grossly underweight but I got really fat when I was pregnant with my oldest (gained 70 lbs). I lost 50 of it but it took almost 3 years...then I got pregnant again...and gained 50 lbs (at least it didn't bring friends). It has been a battle ever since.

I have no desire to weigh what I did back in college...I just want to get to a point where I feel healthy again and don't huff and puff when I walk up the stairs. My golf game and my baseball performance have suffered greatly in the past few years.

Approximately six weeks ago I started seriously working towards my health and wellness goals and I have already lost 7 lbs (started at 223; the heaviest I have ever been not pregnant). It's a slow start but at least I'm heading in the right direction.

There are no pictures of me at this weight; ain't no way I'm getting in front of a camera...unless you've got a really WIDE angle lens. When I reach my goal I may get brave enough to post a before...maybe.

Never been big on sharing too much personal information on the internet...you just never know who's out there. Suffice it to say that I am currently residing on the third rock from the sun; and what a loverly rock it is. Let's keep it clean, shall we.


Other Information:
I am a karaoke junkie...I actually have my own machine...have karaoke, will travel.
