6/7/07 - I live in the Los Angeles area. I have had three sons and I have an active grandson.
I am engaged to a wonderful man. Just recently, I attended a couple of weddings. I found myself trying to hold my jacket closed so people would not notice my stomach. I don't want to do that any more. That is why I am sharing my weight loss progress online. I feel that I will have to follow through if people are watching my results.

1/2/08 - I went from a size 28 to a size 22. I'm making progress.

1/2/09 - Starting over. I now wear a size 26. Read my blogs to see my progress.

5/30/09 - Wedding Day! I now wear a size 24.

1/7/13 Just came back to Spark. I currently wear a size 32 pants and I weigh 342.6 lbs. I am not a happy camper.

Been back on Spark for a month now. I currently wear a size 30 pants and I weigh 328.9. I have a lot of work to do.

3/9/13 - Grand child number 4 is here.

1/7/14 - One year back on Spark. I now weigh 276.2 lbs. and I wear a size 24. I am definitely making progress!

1/06/15 - Two years back on spark. 242.2 lbs. Size 20

1/07/16 - Three years back on spark. 228.6 lbs. Size 18 I am happy that I lost some weight in the last year, but I know I could have done much better.

1/07/17 - Four years back on Spark. 219.4 lbs. I have a few pair of pants in a size 16 but I am also still wearing my size 18 pants. I am really disappointed and happy at the same time. Disappointed because I should have lost more weight. Happy because I'm still determined to lose weight.

1/07/18 - I lost weight, gained it back, then lost some more, then gained it back. I am now at 236.6. My size 18 pants are too tight but I still wear them. I also took out two pair of pants that used to be too big for me. I'm a little disappointed but already back on track.

1/16/19 - I started this year at 250.8. I now wear a size 20 pants. I started getting serious about losing weight again about 11 days ago. I am now 247.6 pounds. I'm looking to lose 50 pounds this year.

My Goals:
My goal is to eventually lead a more active life. I intend to walk on a daily basis and for fun, instead of going to the movies all of the time, I want to go bike riding and skating. But my ultimate goal is to lose over 100 pounds.


My Program:
I still eat what I want. I just don't eat as much. I walk on my lunch break and My husband and I walk/jog after work on the treadmill and we walk on the weekends.



Personal Information:
I am from California, the Los Angeles area. I've had three sons. My oldest is 40, the youngest is 29. My middle child died before the age of 21 in 2001. I have a wonderful grandson who is 18 years old.
I have 2 beautiful granddaughters, 11 and 8. And I have three little grandsons, 5, 3, and 1.

    CONGRATULATIONS on your SEVENTH week, Casual Traveler!

    We made it to Oslo Norway, logged 7,348 exercise miles, 1,260 points for My Clean Kitchen and another 1,200 points for “My New Habit”.

    While there were a couple of gains (ME) and some who stayed the same as the previous week, we also had some nice losses for the week!

    Several folks are very close to and some have already met their 5% challenge goal!! Congratulations!!

    Can you believe we are well on our way to completing this, the final leg and the final week of this, our Fall 5% challenge??!! It seems like we just started!!! Well done!! I hope you’re very proud of being here and of how you got here!!

    You stuck to it!! You completed 7 weeks of travels and new adventures, new habits, eating off 9 inch plates, losing some clutter and so on!

    I hope you’re excited about the 8th week of our journey!

    The plane is currently in the air and a little under half way to our destination of NewYork City in the USA which is 3,685 exercise miles away. This may be our shortest trip; maybe we can land the soonest we have yet?!

    Please keep moving as best and as often as you can; let’s finish this with as many or more miles than ever before!!

    This trip's living the good life challenge (LTGL) is: Making it Through the Holidays and we are again logging points for a new healthy habit from last week's LGTL.

    So how do you count points for the is Making it Through the Holidays challenge? (Please make sure to read the challenge 8 guidelines for the exact description and information regarding what this challenge exactly entails).

    This means, for the new LTGL challenge there are 2 steps: 5 points for daily exercise and 5 points for daily nutrition tracking combined in one score.

    Step 1. We are tracking all of our food; meals, snacks, etc. for each day. If you track ALL your food for the day, you will score 5 points. If you do not, you will score 0 points.

    Step 2. This is separate from exercise miles - In addition to reporting exercise as exercise miles, we are tracking whether or not we have done at least 10 minutes of exercise daily. If you do at least 10 minutes of exercise in a day, you will score 5 points. If you do not, you will score 0 points.

    You may find you do one but not the other in a day; score 5 for the one you did and 0 for the one you didn’t.

    Both can be scored in one line like this under MY Nutrition Tracking and Daily Exercise: 5+5 =10.

    Then in the Team Nutrition Tracking and Daily Exercise line, count the above as 10.

    Please remember exercise has a daily maximum of 120 minutes; each minute is 1 mile.

    As shared before, We're a very supportive, no pressure team but we do want everyone to participate to the best of their abilities.
    Please make sure to log all of your LTGL points & exercise miles for the day as often as possible; the sooner our points are posted, the sooner we land our plane and we are one of 10 teams trying to land first!! Also...bonus points are awarded to the teams that reach our destination in first, second and third places.

    Also keep in mind that you are required to actively post your LGTL points weekly. At the latest any/all Week 7 points need to be posted before 11:59PM Friday, November 29th.

    Weekly weigh ins are required to be posted before 11:59PM (in your time zone) on Saturday, November 30th.

    CONGRATULATIONS on your SIXTH week, Casual Traveler!

    We made it to Xi'an China, logged 7,220 exercise miles, 1,310 points for My Clean Kitchen and another 1,340 points for the 9 inch plate. We had a very nice overall loss for the week!

    Be very proud of yourselves for sticking with it, and again, for those of who who are thinking your results were not what you wanted to see... You still stuck to it!! You're still here and you're still traveling!! Very Well done!!!

    Let's get super stoked about this, the 7th week of our journey!! This is our 2nd SHORTEST jaunt, but that doesn't mean we should put in fewer exercize miles, does it? Nope, not at all!!

    And at the risk of sounding like a broken record, remember, too, that hydrating and tracking are important tools for success with travels of this nature.

    So how do you count points for the Healthy New Habit challenge?

    This week start a new healthy habit that will improve your life, health, motivate you (see the week 7 challenge page for the full desription). When you log, let your team know what habit you are tracking and give yourself 10 points for each day you faithfully follow YOUR new habit. If you miss a day, no points for the day - this is another all or nothing challenge.

    You will also report 10 points for each day that you do ten or more minutes of Kitchen Clean-Up; on the days with less than or no Kitchen clean up you will score "0" points.

    As always, exercise has a daily maximum of 120 minutes; each minute is 1 mile and should be reported after completion.
