Well, I just realized that my intro had my January 2015 text that hadn't been changed in an entire year. Sadly, there wasn't much that needed to be changed. It was a frustrating year of fits and starts that ended up going nowhere in terms of me being any healthier than I was at this time last year. So now, in February of 2016, I am going to try again. And you know what? That's all any of us can do. "Fall seven times, get up eight..." I forget who said that (or something similar, anyway).

Fitness Minutes: 11,605

My Goals:
Weight-Related:

Long term goal: Lose 50 pounds by 12/31/15. That sounds like a lot, but in reality, it is less than 1 pound a week. YES I can! YES I will!

Benchmarks: Lose 6 lbs. a month through 5/1/15. Lose 4 lbs. a month through 9/1/15. Lose remaining 10 pounds by 12/31/15. This allows for any plateaus, etc. during the final third of the year.


Short term goal: Consistently fit into my clothes; not just my "fat jeans", by 4/1/15. As a reward for hitting this goal, I am going to have all the clothes that need to be altered done by a professional tailor, instead of trying to take things in myself (with mixed results, to say the least!) I am also going to buy myself a new belt when I need one, instead of making new holes in the ones I already have!

Rewards for meeting goals and benchmarks:
Each 5 lbs. lost will earn me a trip to Ulta!
20 lbs. lost: Full highlights
30 lbs. lost: New pair of shoes.
40 lbs. lost: Professional


My Program:
I will take 10,000 steps at least 6 days a week.

I will do a water workout (swimming, water jogging or water aerobics) 3 days a week.

I will use the elliptical for 30 minutes, 2 days a week.

I will be using a modified version of the DASH Diet, under the guidance of a nutritionist.



Personal Information:
I live in a small town north of San Diego. It is a wonderful place to live with beautiful weather and I have no excuse not to enjoy all types of physical activity! I enjoy swimming and hiking and will try anything (at least) once!


Other Information:
I love to read, connect with friends and families on facebook and Pinterest and cook dinner most nights. I don't love to do housework, but I force myself as often as I can!

    My dh just dyes my hair. I'm in the same camp as you, I would NEVER let him take scissors to my hair. I go to the salon for that. But he dyes it because I always miss spots if I try to do it myself. He hates doing it, but he'd rather do it himself than have me pay $100 at the salon to get it done. He is pretty good at it, though!
