Hi, my name is Yvette. I am from Newfoundland, Canada.
I am 38 years old and Married.


I have struggled with my weight pretty much my entire life. My wishes will come true for me I know it. Here's to a new me in 2009 ! I am doing it for me no one else.


I am going to change my life for the better now. Learning how to change my body from the inside, out. Looking at what has caused me to gain weight on an emotional level, since I was a little girl. Ask yourself questions like: How did I get like this? What is the root of my problem with food? Once you get to the root of your problems with food and past issues with family members,etc. Then you can begin to change your life and make better choices about food, and why we eat at certain times of the day. Ask yourself - Am I really hungry or am I trying to fill a void of hurt, etc. Always choose healthy options, if you are having a bad day, that makes you want to go for the junk food. Even having a glass of water will do the trick.Take it one day at a time. Never give up your dream of achieving your goals in 2009. Here's to taking off the weight that has weighed us down for years, and keep it off when we reach our Goal. And live a long and healthly life.

As with any Weight Loss Plan consult your doctor before you begin.

Remember this is a lifestyle change that will help you learn how to eat healthy.

Tips for a successful weight loss are as follows:

1. Exercise is key to any weight loss plan, never make excuses why you can not do it. Just get moving.

Try to be active every day. Canada's Physical Activity Guide recommends 30 to 60 minutes of moderate physical activity per day for adults. Start with 10 minutes each day and add more time as you build up. You don't need to do it all at once! Every 10 minutes count towards your daily total. Fit activity into your usual routine. Walk to the mailbox, store, to pick up a movie, or to pick up your kids. Every little step counts. Make an active date with a friend or your partner to go for a walk, cycle, spin, swim, dance, workout, ski, skate, paddle, climb, or to play a game of tennis or squash. Get outside and work or play in the garden, with the kids, on the soccer field, on the green, on a trail, at a park, on the water or the ice. Stretch, do yoga, light weights or calisthenics while you watch TV. You don't have to leave home to get moving!


3. Throw out all junk food in your fridge and cupboards.

4. Cut back on salt intake as it makes you retain water.


5. Cut down on calorie intake and eat leaner cuts of meat, and get all necessary servings from your food guide for all food groups.

6. Avoid Alcohol at all times as it contains the most calories.

7. Replace 1% and 2% milk with Skim Milk.

8. Consume 8 - 10 glasses of water daily.

9. Portion your meals. Prepare meals the night before to save time when you cook the next day. This will save you time that could be spent with your family.

10. Plan your meals a week in advance and make a shopping list. Remember no junk food.


11. Make a to do list of each day that way you will remember what needs to get done.

12. Keep a Journal. Write down everything. Meals consumed, calories, what time, how do you feel, water, exercise, when breakfast, lunch, and supper.

13.Burn more calories than you take in and you will lose.

14.Exercising while watching tv will make the time go by faster.

15. As always try to get outside to exercise, but if it is too cold out stay inside and do them if you want to. It is up to you.

16.Eat smaller meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism going. I eat every three hours. Meals and 3 snacks , I don't eat 2 - 3 hrs before bed.


17.Diet Plans that are very popular are:

Fit Day (Internet)
Biggest Loser League (Internet)

18. Avoid high calorie foods at parties. And opt for low calorie ones.

19.Take it one day at a time. Make small goals by focusing on small weight losses rather than the big picture.

20. Taking action now to lose weight will help you control your body and maybe even stop all the medications that you are taking. We are living in a society of obese people. But we can change that by taking on our own challenge and make a difference by influencing others who are suffering from being overweight.

21. Reward yourself when you reach a goal. For every 10 lbs lost.
Exp. New piece of clothes, get nails done, etc...
