Update #1

Here it is, I quit smoking. And I'm not going back.
I've stopped using excuses. And my butt is getting in shape.
I've lost 3lbs..

It's a start.

I can do it.
I will do it.
I am doing it.


I'm a Mum of 3, a Black Belt in Karate, aiming towards my 2nd degree. I've fallen off track, and need to get back on track. I've missed about 3 months of Karate due to my children being sick, me being sick, family members being in the hospital, Holiday's and last but not least excuses.

It's time to stop with the excuses and get my butt back to class. Back in shape, and feeling good!

My goal is to lose 20lbs, be happy, healthy, and not give up so easy on losing weight. Even if I don't achieve my goal of losing 20lbs I won't mind. I just want to lose the inches. I find I lose inches more than I lose wieght.

Oh, and the 115 beside my name is my target weight. I might add that I'm only 5'0"...

My Goals:
My goals are to keep my goals simple and achievable!!

# Get back on track
*Drinking water (all 8+ glasses a day) DONE
*Getting my butt back to Karate DONE
*Continue working out at home (I was doing so well before) DONE

# Lose 20lbs by October, 2008 (at the lastest)
*by sticking to my goals.

# Quit smoking DONE DONE DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*I have no excuse not to (and for anyone reading, I smoke outside, not inside or around my children ;) )


My Program:
I'm just going to go with the flow until I find something that works for me.

So far, I'm using the treadmill, stationary bike, stair stepper, Turbo Jam and Karate!! watching my calorie intake and drinking lot's of water!

I am from South Eastern Ontario... that's about as personal as I'll get on here with personal info ;)


Other Information:
Other info about me... I'm a Harry Potter lover. I have and have read all of the books. I will occasionally sit down and enjoy a HP game on the PS2.

I love spending time with my children, and hubby..

    hello jus stopping by to check on you and see how ur doing today? i wrote a new blog explaining why i have not been posting comments latley. i didnt fall off track or anything. and i hope that u are closer to acheiving ur goals?? .this time, i am changing my life and i like seeing all of what i can do, & who i am becoming even if nobody can tell i have lost a pound. fight the good fight! ur worth it. dont b a stranger..have a great week!

    i am great ty! i hope that u are doing well also.?? i wrote another blog and again i will post it here on ur page as a comment..so here goes.

    well as i did last wed....i went to the scale at the grocery store. this time nobody looked, nobody stood behind me and yelled out my weight, nobody payed attention..well until i was jumpin on and off the thing trying to git an accurate weight. so i took the 4 outta 7 reading and i am now at 215!! omg i am so excited about my loss. my 40th birthday is in december and i wanna be 150. i think the goal is acceptable for me. anyway...i jus wanted to pass on the news..omg i am 215..

    i work out everyday. both cardio for 30 and strength for another 30. if i take a day off it is ok..i know tommrow is another chance to make good choices!

    ohhhh and i was shopping at super walmart and found a book rack in the bakery..(yes i was jus smelling..not considering..lol).. i found a lil book called "calories fat & carbohydrate counter" it is awsome, i bought it for about $6 and i could not put it down. it is small enough to carry in my purse and has all kinds of food, even restruant dishes. the web site is www.calorieking.com and they also sell the book there. i am jus sayin..i jus got it yesterday and i love it!!!!

    i cant wait to see what i weigh next week..even if nothing or jus a pound and i will b happy....but look out 200 here i come!!

    Nichole,

    Congratulations for quitting. TDMabry suggested I contact you. I'm about to quit smoking and I could use some advice from someone who is already doing it. Like you, I'm pretty short and a few "extra" lbs. makes a big difference on me. I'm quite anxious about the possible weight gain which generally accompanies giving up cigs and I want to avoid it if at all possible. Please let me know if you have any good tips to share. Are you taking Chantix or Wellbutrin? Don't quit quitting; your an example for the rest of us smokers!
