I'm Shay: avid runner, food blogger, home cook, business owner, and craft beer lover! Been a part of the Spark community for almost 10 years, and have finally become a success story myself. I have always yo-yoed with my weight, but this time I WILL keep it off for good. I had a goal to lose 30 pounds by my wedding (October 2016) and achieved it! I have since kept it off, and continue working out ~4x a week, and manage my diet. *Just completed Beachbody's 6 week Transform:20 (April 2019) and have previously done their 8 week LIIFT4 program (Sept 2018) and highly recommend both for any level of fitness. Gave me increased definition to my already toned arms and legs. I'm at a happy place with my life, and now with my body. It has been a rough ride, but I'm here now and I don't want to go anywhere! Spark keeps me motivated, and I love being able to give tips to newbies just starting out, trying to navigate their own weight loss journeys. I have a food blog I dabble with, shaymelesscooking.com stop by and visit, or check out my Instagram with the same name! I will be posting my favorite recipes, that are quick and easy to make at home - no hunting at the grocery store for random ingredients! I strive for balance in my life, and that would be the biggest piece of advice I would give to anyone - find balance, and you will succeed.

My Goals:
Beat my original 5k time - 27:40

Run a Warrior Dash

Comfortably be a size 6-8

Not stop my regimen once I reach my goal weight (like I always do). Instead, I need to create a realistic maintenance program of diet and exercise.


My Program:
Do as much home cooking and experimenting with different proteins and veggies as I can.

Workout 4ish times a week, splitting my cardio between running and the elliptical. I also use 8lb weights at home during HIIT videos and strength training.

I've also been following Kayla Itsines BBG program! No equipment is really needed, and exercises can be performed anywhere! It's a good ass kickin circuit workout :)

I enjoy writing in my free time, as well as being an avid reader and crossword puzzle-doer. I have a weakness for a good beer or glass of wine, working on keeping those consumed in moderation!

I own and run a residential cleaning business.

    You said in my question on the comment board that you use TLS system. Do their products have any effect in raising blood pressure? Wanting to avoid stimulants like that due to hypertension. Thanks

I need to trick my dh in thinking that some of my dishes are full-fat, because that's the way he likes them. I'm so afraid to make things full-fat, because I'll eat way too much of it. I feel that if I have the calorie and fat grams down alot, then I can have a little more! emoticon
