Some scrapbook fun...my FB group cover photoSome scrapbook fun...my FB cover photoToday is the day my Boo gets here for her visit...4 hours and 15 minutes before her plane arrives. My new fur baby, Louis Armstrong :)He may be little but he takes up more than his fair share of the bed. He just looks guilty :) This morning's walkAlmost didn't happen, dropped my phone, shattering the screen which let to a major meltdownBUTTON this one's for you... Louis destroys my living room as fast as I clean itIt's been an awesome day!!! 96 ounces of water, 6 mile walk and over 15K steps and I still have 6 hours before bedtime virtual 5k this morningA month of progress Power walk intervals... pace during high intensity was around 13 min/mi... Would have liked faster but having to keep moving for cars slowed me downGood morning! Time to rise and shine, it's going to be a beautiful day. Happy Sparking!!! Pushed outside of my comfort zone during my run intervals...avg pace about 30 seconds faster at least after I got through a rough start during my first interval...i fell off the road lol Mommy got her workouts in today...had to leave Harley out in the living room so Louis wasn't alone... No whiney fur baby today=happy mommyWith shorter intervals and longer recovery I can push myself a little harder My HIIT workout was out of the question but I did get my walk in and 20 minutes strength and stretch on Stability ball Seen the sun peak out so I checked the radar and I had a window to get some miles in... And I left it all out on the road...sanity restored!!! is bummed...I have always been drawn to this old house since I moved down here...fascinated by what story it might hold...but they tore it town when they logged the woods it was located inHad a great run this morning, set a route PR and was finally able to run it in less than 40 minutes... 39:01to be exact...the best part was I wasn't even trying... I was just trying to clear my headMy sit up coach...each complete sit up I got a kiss and giggles...Ready for my interview...want what I normally would have chosen but everything else I own is too big Couldn't decide if I wanted to run 5k or walk it so I did both :) The resemblance is uncanny lol... I have to just laugh at myself at this point...i won't even leave the houseHappy Mother's Day!!!5 mile power walk in the rain... Avg pace 12:52 min/mi... I can live with that :) Post run glow... 74 degrees and 88% humidity and it's only May...we're looking at a high of 91 today... Good thing I'll be stuck inside recuperating in the A/CLouis waiting patiently to quit playing with my camera so we can go for a walk My little walking buddy will be sidelined for a few days, he sprained his front paw yesterday when he got a little rambunctious... Harley is taking good care of him though I'm guessing I'm being ignored for some reason...he is refusing to come out of the room or listen to me today... Sheesh!!! Kids!!! My daughter was trying to take a picture of her kitten to send to me and this is what she got...lol Before and after...6 1/2 years of progress...Took a little detour on my walk this morning...found this little gem...now to go back with my book and a blanket Morning walkDon't let a bad yesterday keep you from reaching your goals today4 miles done...2 mile run at a very comfortable pace then a 2 mile walk back home...it was a little warm but I have to admit...I love the triple digits :)5 mile walk complete... 3 miles at very brisk pace then strolled home Decided I was never going to get faster if I didn't start pushing myself a little harder but that means I actually had to slow my walk pace down to recover between interval... But I got an extra 1/2 mPR'd my route by 1:13 and I wasn't even trying...last route PR was in April and I about died trying...getting stronger With all this rain, I decided I would just become a duck :)I've decided to become a duck until all this crazy rain passes :)Even a duck likes to dry off once in awhile...ready to bask in some sunshine...What a difference a year can make...size 12 to a size 8 prerace jitters...a little running mantra I keep repeating to myself6 years of running This made mommy happy! Louis went back to bed instead of destroying the house while I went for my run. Cut my run a little short because my legs felt like they were dragging bricks around. I usually don't run after work. Finished the day with 15,128 stepsBe Yourself"Value our imperfections as much as our perfections"I am doing this!Pre-race jitters in full effect and my 10 miler doesn't start until 1pm...I am going to have beautiful temps...60s...but plenty of time for my brain to say WTF you doing!!!yep...this sums it up this morning crawling out of bed...CAUTION...Slow Moving Sparker Ahead!!!Be Yourself My walk went much better than expected, was a little tired afterwards but took some more B-12 and by the time I was out of the shower it had kicked in I think my body was trying to tell me to stop abusing it...to slow down and reward it with rest for all it's hard work...because when I don't listen...it just shuts me downI guess it's a good thing I bought a new photo editing software so I can start scrapbooking again with all my unwanted free timeGot my 3.5 mile run in and when my shoes got too wet...I took them off and ran barefoot...jumping in all the puddles on the way home...it's a good day :)You can do it!Taking it one day at a timeGood Morning Spark Friends! My New Year's Resolutions :)Don't just watch but be inspired to do it tooHappy New Year!!!Daughter finally made it in...one happy momma right here :)Rockin' out my new yoga pants :)After years of not being able to eat grapefruit due to dietary restrictions on meds...I think I am making up for lost time...Nom.nom.nom. decided to mix things up for breakfast this morning...it was so yummy!!! Love sweet potato hash brownsNew cut and colorSame route 3 weeks apart...first one ran 1/2 mi walk 1/4 mi...second one ran 5K walked 5k...walked as much as I ran and was still faster :)So this is what "rain" looks like in NC...at least that is what my weather app has been trying to tell me for 2 hours now lolBeing sillyMy Corpse Bride yoga pants came today :)Still covered in ice...Came in after 7 miles...after it stops sleeting I will head out for the last 4...90 minutes of getting hit in the face with little ice balls was enough for meEven got 3rd place in my age group yesterday...too bad I couldn't stick around to get my medal I was coughing too badly and I needed to get some medicine :(11. 15 miles down...now that's how you start the weekend of right :)Another awesome workout in the books :)And it's only 2pm...I think I may have earned my lunch today :)Sent the picture on the left to my daughter to get her option before my interview...came home to my FB blown up because she posted this pictureNobody can say I let the grass grow under my feet yesterdaySince I couldn't make it to my half it was no excuse not to get it done right hereEven though I am gaining weight...my pants are getting too big :)Somehow he managed to get an infection in his foot...6 hours later and we're still in the ERJust meHad a great two day with family visiting from back homeGood morning :)Just need to make it through my shift today and another 3 days off from work :)This is what happens when it's beautiful outside and I'm bored... I will be back to running half marathons but until then I will take it one run at a timeI was being hard on myself for not going for a walk before work...I am now thankful that I didn't...it was a crazy nightThe twins just aren't cooperating today...at least we got our walk inAnother busy day😊January recapMonthly recapWeather is still yucky...upper and lower body plus cardio...63 minutes doneBoys and weather cooperated...felt good to get back outside2 mile belly walk and 20 minutes of core while the twins nap...outdoor walk after their napNighty nightWho needs a weighted vest?!?! 2.36 mile walk with this little chunkAfter I got home from my first walk, Oaklen was awake from his nap and was not happy to see his brother in a carrier without him. Loaded the both in the stroller and did 2 more milesThey say if you're still cute after your workout, you didn't work hard enough...channeling my inner Alice Cooper...next time remove mascara before running1.25 miles with these two strapped to me...I can't believe how painful this was...my hips hurt so bad from the extra weight...it's hard to believe I used to carry that extra weight around dailyAnother rainy day in "paradise" means indoor walking...40 minute SUPER Burn with LeslieThe tiny terrors and I got a walk in between storms...Oaklen wasn't feeling it after mile one and Rowen was trying to hook himself back into the stroller when I was trying to take him outThis is beginning to be the norm and my poor body if feeling it...I woke up this morning and my legs feel like bricksAbsolutely no chance of a walk outside todayGood morning! Took a rest day yesterday and my legs feel much better this morning😊😊3 rest days in a row but still avg more than 12K steps...2 mile comfortably paced run this morning...it's amazing how much better I feel.I have said it time and time again...when you just don't feel it... do it anyways...once you start you will feel better and glad that you did it5K of intervals followed by a walk with the boys this morning...now just relaxing before workLoving my new water bottle...100 oz before 1pmMade it out with the boys before the storm hits, even managed to "run" for 1/2 mile pushing a regular tandem stroller...stroller + twins = 85+ poundsPosted a photoFirst "official" run with the boys...I am pretty excited about my run intervals...I know it was only for a minute and I can only imagine how much better it will be with the right strollerMonster strollerHappy Monday!!!is sick...the boys gave everyone in the house their cooties :(Boys pediatrician said that some fresh air would do them so goodThey say your first 20 minutes of your run is the hardest...which was clearly true today since was 5 minute cool down jog was my fastest interval paceRunning with these little guys sure is a workoutMade yesterday all about me...got a pedi and a fill and finished my day off with some much needed ink therapyHappy Easter 🐇🐇🐇When the boys eat healthier than me #breakfastEnjoying our daily walkCouch to 5K Week 3 Day 3 with the twinsYou have to take the bad days in stride...Week 4, Day 1 with screaming toddlers...Solo run this morning without my grandsons...I also love taking them out with me but I can appreciate not having to push 90+ poundsAllergies were kicking my butt this morning...I made some lemon ginger tea and headed out of my run...despite not feeling the greatest and having to cut my last run interval short...my avg pace was still 7 secs faster than yesterdayMorning walk with my handsome grandsons...they would have been happy to keep going...me on the other hand...drank too much water before heading out the door😂😂#BeforeAndAfter
Life may have set me back a little but I keep pushing forward...I am only 15 pounds away from reaching my happy weight goal again...when I start feeling discouraged I just have to remember how far I have comeHad a good run today...it went better than I had expected since I had three 5 minute run intervals...I just wish I had somewhere flatter to run...on the bright side it is downhill or flat on the way homeDecided to pull the boys in the wagon instead of pushing the stroller...phew!!!Totally skipped my run yesterday...every inch of my body hurt...this morning I felt much better and took advantage of not having the twins this morning.
Today also came with a huge NSV...my MHR usually hits the high 150s-160s but today MHR was only 136...I have a hard time keeping my heart rate below 140 even when trying to and even before my injury when I was running 25-30 miles a week
#gettingstrongerI have been slacking the past two days...my boyfriend flew in on Friday to visit me for a couple of weeks...today we took a catamaran tour off of WaikikiLeft the boys with grandpa so Nana could run solo...I knew running 20 minutes straight was going to be challenging enough with pushing the twins in the jogger.
I just wish while I was slacking on my running the last couple of days that I didn't slack on my water too...My schedule is totally out of whack with having company...I did manage to get out of the house for a bit with the boys...I pulled them in their wagon for 2.25 milesI feel kinda guilty leaving Papa with the boys and taking some alone time but it's been nice not having to deal with temper tantrums...most of the time they are really good but when they're not...it makes it really hard to keep pushingBeen here for almost 2 years and I am finally out exploringA little crabby this morning...had plans but my boyfriend is sick😕 needed next week's work schedule so I killed two birds with one stone...did some easy running and speed work on the way and walked on the way back home.Decided to go a little further today...most of my interval runs are 28-33 minutes or around 2.5 miles...I wasn't worried about pace and kept my run intervals to only 1 minute but I need to start building up my endurance...5Ks are great but I want to get back into running half marathons...which means my slow a$$ has to get used to 2.5-3 hours of running againA hour of 2:2 intervals followed by a tour of the USS Missouri...what a fantastic way to spend the day before having to head off to workThursday 5-31 recapToday is my third run day in a row...it's been awhile since I have been able to manage that... I think it is safe to say my ankle has completely healed...now to get my endurance back so I get back to running 25-30 miles a weekLuau with the ohanaFamily nightKilling two birds with one stone...walked to the nail salonTook the stress out on the asphalt...56 minutes of 2:2 intervals...mile two was filled with hills and even stairs...the last 34 minutes was just a comfortable walk back home...Still stressed out...yesterday I did a little retail therapy and bought new curtains and comforter set for my bedroom then spent time with my family at the pool.
Today, I made it out for a 2 mile run just to clear my head and getting ready to head out for my consultation for my next tattooI was told not to run or go for any long walks until Tuesday to allow it to heal a little...debating on heading out barefoot or just putting the boys down for their nap and doing a Leslie DVDMorning intervals with the twins...almost a month of running without them made this morning's brutal...my usual run with them is around 30 minutes but I am trying to get it up to a hour
Weighed in this morning and I was happy to see that all the weight that I gained while my company was here visiting for 18 days, I have lost in only a weekTook the boys for a walk in their wagon...had to switch arms halfway through...they are getting so heavy...at least with the boys I know that the weight I am pulling or pushing is increasing regularly 😜😜Morning walk with my little guys...got the hill out of the way in the beginning of our walk...and once I found the music they wanted to hear it went much smoother...music choices were dictated by 15-month old twins...if the boys ain't happy...no one is happy😜I don't want to adult today but unfortunately that is not an option...forced a walk and told myself that I just had to walk 2 miles and I could go as slow as I wanted.
This past weekend kicked my butt...Saturday was 4 hours of training followed by work...I was gone from 8a-10p...then Sunday while out on my run, I got a text asking me to cover 2 hours in pharmacy before working my 8.5 hour shift in front store...fell into bed with over 22K stepsFeeling sassy😘It's been a good weekend. New running shoes and a Fitbit Versa ❤️❤️❤️It's only 11am 😊Almost 10K steps before 11am, 8 weeks post-op from knee surgery only weight bearing for only the past two. Still have to wear a brace for 3 more months but it's not going to stop me...I have goalsI can't believe it's been 11 years since I started my journey and 7 years ago today when I hit the big 100 pounds lost milestoneI can't believe it's been 11 years since I started my journey and 7 years ago today when I hit the big 100 pounds lost milestoneFirst two weeks done...only lost 1.3 lbs...this is why I take pictures and measurements (-8.25 inches)A month down, 11 lbs gone and 15.5 inches...I think this is the best I have ever done on a diet, cut carbs to 100g and I feel amazing.Sunday morning miles...slowly adding running intervals back into the mix...17 sets of 1:1 interval during my first 3 miles then walked it out3 Miracle Miles with Leslie Sansone, 4 miles pushing the twins in the jogger after breakfast and 40 minutes of yoga after putting the boys down for their nap.Thought it would be a good idea to walk 10 miles instead of my usual Sunday 8...I thought I was going to die...it's been almost 3 yrs since walking double digit miles3 Miracle Miles with Leslie this morningReally want to watch serving sizes...use a toddler bowl for oatmeal and a tea cup saucer for your eggs lolSunday Morning MilesMe and my granddaughter Ryleigh Chillin' while Sparkin'Selfie after a run For my daughterStill have a ways to go but I will take it :)Me and my baby girl at her high school graduation.
