week 5 of my streak for "Exercise for at least 30 minutes per week" earned 1/26/2015
That was me, on vacation. Reverse those stats this week.
Orange you glad you joined SparkPeople?
Do you know what this is? The cashiers at Kroger never do! Try new things!
Who can name the veggie on the far right?
I see clouds in my coffee, too.
How the heck is that even POSSIBLE? I tracked food/water on a day I DIDN'T log in? Takes talent, eh?
Next up: What's this veggie? Hint: It's fully ripe, and some common black ants are bigger! Just 100g packs a nutritional punch: 240% of vitamin-C (Ascorbic acid),
39% of vitamin B-6 (Pyridoxine),
32% of vitamin A,
13% of iron,
14% of copper,
7% of potassium,
but no cholesterol. Dried, it costs about $14/oz.
Baked Potato Chips
There's a name for why you're seeing "him" - my bad attitude breakfast man. What is it?
THIS is the sight that greeted me as I left work today. I interrupted an unknown co-worker's cell phone call to point and say, "Look up, behind you!" He was impressed enough to hang up, stare open-mouthed at it, and snap his own picture.
Gettin' there!
Oh, God, how have I not reached 10k steps YET?
Healthy Breakfast!
Yay. Time for bed.
Banana Blueberry Fiber Smoothie! (270 calories)
The fiber in my smoothies - ground up fine like flour and added to fruit and milk, it's great!
45 grams of crisped, salted, peppered kale. Yummy, any time! Toss with a spritz of Pam, season to taste, spread on a cookie sheet, bake at 375° for about 10 minutes (Don't let it turn brown!)
Southwestern Chicken Tortilla Soup and veggies (no dressing)
17 pints of mixed veggie pickles, done! ✔
My husband and son found a gorgeous fitness track near where we live.
Great place for a morning walk. Big loop plus small loop equals about two miles. Pretty flat track, and not too bad if you hit it before the sun obliterates the "shady side." It was already 80° by 8:00am.
By the way, for those who think Texas is dry, brown, and full of tumbleweed, Houston is in the tropics. This is in suburban Houston. It's not a "dry heat." The humidity is 75% right now. Not sure if I was sweating or just collecting dew.
Went back for another 2.15 miles this evening before dinner. Great spot for cloud gazing!
Kind of magnificent.
Nature at dawn
Waiting patiently (and allowing my pace while I stop to take pictures!)
Very faint now, but here's the moon, handing the reins to the sun.
Just before sunrise

Easy stracciatella.
About to turn this...
...into this!
Added more color!
90° and sunny, it's too hot for this, but I did it anyway. #showupanddoit
Cricket in the park.
Cricket in the park.
Racing storms to get my walk in...
A mile out, and headed back towards this. What are my odds?
day 50 of my streak for "Log in and spin the SparkPoints wheel" earned 9/27/2016
We're having a cold spell. It is only about 80 degrees! Took advantage of that to walk almost 7 miles!
Morning walk.
Two dogs romping and fetching in the lake.
Don't even breathe...
After the fall, could've been worse! Knee looks about the same.
Night walk.
Crisped cream havarti cheese, fried eggs, and fresh blueberries.

Good incentive not to gain an ounce between now and July!
Better, and better for you, than candy. 50 calories' worth of frozen strawberries.
A walk in the rain
June 2017
is addicted to walking in the nature preserve!
Weight loss tip: "Don't eat in front of the computer." Damn straight. It might get envious.
I just had a little taste... Honest.
89° in the shade. But it's a wet heart! 2 miles in.
Easy to exercise when you see results. The trick is remembering the motivation and commitment when results aren't instantaneous, after a long workday.

Literally took 6 minutes - I timed it! Didn't have to get dressed or drive to MickeyD's, either!
Used 1/2 oz. Havarti instead off processed cheese.
Starts the day of right, with a delicious, nutritious breakfast for just 337 calories!
Egg whites with prosciutto and fresh fruit- nectarines, peaches, and kiwi fruit.
A good day starts with a good breakfast: egg whites with crispy prosciutto, peaches, nectarines, and kiwi fruit. #deliciousdailymoment
Hello!
Working lunch, homemade, not nuked. 4.25 oz filet, baked potato. 689 calories of delicious.
Homemade Egg MacMuffinless
There's a nice, melty, mini- wheel of Baby Bel in there, between the egg and the Canadian Bacon. One egg is bolstered with liquid egg whites, and the whole meal weighs in at 296 calories. The fresh blueberries from Costco are just about perfect, by the way.
105 days of drifting away, but determined to be here now and not drop the ball by backsliding.
2nd half of a twice baked potato skin. :) or a cheesy baked potato chip.
Surgeon said: no special dietary requirements, just eat lots of protein for healing. Um...OK. :) Can I go back to the "special dietary requirements" before I regain ALL I lost last year??
Happy Nowruz! And Happy 1st of Spring!
I'm pretty sure there's some orange roughy under there!
Just realized I forgot to upload the last pic: The final result! Orange roughy with citrus, dill, and thyme, and sabzi polo (herbed rice).
Purple potatoes, baby bella's, arugula, spinach, cherry tomatoes. Dinner!
Curmudgeonly little guy. Didn't much want his picture taken.
Breakfast! A small farm: 2 slices Canadian bacon, fried egg, baby bella mushrooms, steamed arugula.
Starting the week off right!
Thick sliced potato, lightly dusted with sea salt and black pepper, topped with Boursin soft cheese, and baked.
Lunch!
I have no clue how to track this one... But it looks healthy. Sort of. 🤣
Good morning! Hope your Monday is full of bright cheer and brings all your favorite things in the week ahead.
Brunch. Just shy of 600 calories (including the butter on the bread). Beat that, Mickey D's.
Toasted Costco artisanal burger bun, lightly buttered; Bird's Eye Superfoods Blend with Kale and Barley, whole fresh tomato lightly sprinkled with salt, pepper, and basil.
Breakfast and lunch!
A healthy, nutritious breakfast needn't be a sad affair.
Goose, goose, duck? Things seem while burning 1K calories, for a sweet potato, Alex.
Me, in 2020!
Mixed greens, celery, radishes, tomatoes, cottage cheese, and sardines.
Amazingly good after a 4 mile walk and errands!
Pace would have been faster, but I was distracted by the butterflies! Had to stop for frequent photos.
Tasty, 250 calories.
Fried egg (olive oil), pancetta (uncured), 3 triscuits.
New tracker. Still learning the features. Did this - but TWICE. Didn't realize it stopped live tracking when I stopped at the "comfort station."
All this in just 8 days!
Me, in Alaska (June 2009, 230 lbs.)
True Blue Texan! (Ack - that's a LIVE armadillo! Look at those CLAWS!)
