Set a new PR steps wise today...
A good day that began with a visit with my youngest granddaughter...isnt she just the cutest???😁Me, I can't resist a good motivational quote. Recently I'd been told, "fast or slow, a mile is a mile"
So, for everyone of you beautiful SparkPeople, sometimes it's gonna happen slow, sometimes there will even be set backs. Stay consistent, stay the course. No matter what you're up and doing, no matter how slow or clunky things may be at times progress is progress.
The bucket is filled one drop at a time.
You got this. I got this. We got this.Today marks 30 days back at work on me. It's been a good month ... a very good month. Down 13.8 pounds in 30 days. Time to reward myself... and cause no harm in the process.
Last night's supper... simple and delicious. New York Strip steak with cranberry maple rub and lightly sprinkled with smoked durango sea salt with asparagus and all cooked on a Himalayan salt slab. Protein never tasted so good.Breakfast this morning... three fried eggs (no grease or oil, cooked on a non-stop griddle), three strips of bacon, about a cup or so of mixed veggies and whole wheat toast because, well, yolk. Washed down with a glass of almond milk and whey protein and a cup of coffee.Day 61...
Start: 163.3 lbs
Today: 154.4 lbs.
-8.9 pounds, 5.45% of body mass
BMI down from 22.8 to 21.5
I'm sore and it feels good.
My body aches but is energized.
Breakfast today... oatmeal cooked in almond milk and sprinkled with ground black peppercorns, ground Himalayan sea salt and a few dashes of Fuzzy's Butt Burnin' hot sauce... three large yard eggs, bacon and spinach. Washed it all down with almond milk with a scoop of whey protein and a cup of coffee.Saturday fitness and nutrition laid out for me...
Breakfast of shrimp cocktail and Mimosas for breakfast and a 4 mile bike ride to the stadium.
Lunch of gumbo and cold beer and LSU football.
4 mile bike ride back home.
Making the most of the dreaded 11am kickoff.
Geaux Tigers!About to take off on a 4-mile walk.
Tiger Stadium, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Home of the 3-time National Champion LSU Fighting Tigers.
Weather at kickoff?
Crystal clear skies and 65°.
Chance of rain? NEVER
Side note: My first time ever walking to a game! 4.04 mile power walk to my destination...it's Game Day!!An open bar at a football game. Whew! What a temptation it was. How'd I do? ONE single shot of bourbon after the game to celebrate the win and one beer per quarter. Happy with myself.Pic of the Day #2
From an ongoing photo project to photograph interesting Doors and Windows of the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana.
This reminds me of a line from the Rolling Stones hit, "Paint it Black"... I see a red door and I want to paint it black.Breakfast this morning... keeping it simple
Bacon, eggs, broccoli, coffee, almond milk with whey protein. Living the dream.Pic of the Day #3
I dearly love that my children call on me each year before my grandchildren's birthday to photograph them. My children love the photos and I love taking them not to mention having a bevy of photos of my grandchildren year by year... on top of the snapshots taken year round!
This is my middle granddaughter, Meghan, when she turned 14 in 2015.Today's pic of the day was captured at Mount Locust Plantation along the Natchez Trace in Mississippi. Though called a plantation Mount Locust doesn't at all resemble the image we typically conjure up of a southern plantation. The home is actually quite modest.
I always liked this shot though it lacks strong composition. I think it's the texture of the image that's always pleased me.Happy Thanksgiving to one and all. Today I am going to Anti-Thanksgiving and while most of America is seeing how much they can eat I'm going to intermittent fast today.
It's not a goal but waking up to this on my scale put a big ole smile on this old man's face. Killing it with that keto... and I ain't even a week into it.All gave some, some gave all.
Go Navy!I'll be doggone... there's snow on the ground in South Louisiana... pretty much a once or maybe twice a decade event. That's all the snow it takes for me to be told to stay home for the day. I wonder if the YMCA is open?Sunday morning... laundry and Rock & Roll... Good morning, y'all!Adulting advantage... I can have a hamburger for breakfast. The first thing I started tracking was my steps. I installed the app midday September 29, 2017.
One million steps in 76 days.Haven't posted a pic of the day in a while which makes me wonder why I would call it that to begin with. Taken in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in May, 2010 and post-processed with a I think pretty cool negative space look to it. As for what kind of wildflower this is I have no idea.POETS Day!!!
Pi** On Everything Tomorrow's Saturday!
