Happy Mothers' & Grand-mothers' DayISJF - 'biscuit' is like a scone, right? My courage comes in fits & starts. This photo reminds me of my courageous self. Today is psrkrun. I am wearing my new shorts, but couldn't manage the new vest, so am wearing my parkrun t-shirt today. That's my courage-limit this morning! Saw this and recognised the Spark philosophy. Slow & steady wins the race. Keep Sparking! My hero! An a great example of an altruistic person. yoga........... always helps I got up and out early this Easter Sunday - to beat the heat! trotted down tranquils lanes filled with birdsong, jogged up hills with blue skies above, flew down hills with the sea ahead! Glorious! and a personal best of 18.39k! On the 100 Days of Weight Loss team today, we are looking at using words which support our self-esteem - valuing ourselves, creating two positive statements to take into the day. I am beautiful. I am strong and capable. I enjoyed a lovely Sunday run - sea views, wild flowers, hills, streams, flags and swans! I enjoyed a lovely run at parkrun this morning - no record-breaking speeds here, but a real feel-good factor! Today I enjoyed a stroll........... about 7 miles of mindful walking along flower-filled lanes and in lush exotic gardens; a perfect day! Another fabulous run/walk adventure! I get butterflies in my stomach before I start, but once I get going I'm fine. 11.78k over the luscious Penwith moors, down the wooded valleys, following the stream down to the sea. is going to do the town trail today - in fact there are two town trails, and I'll probably do them both! Enjoyed parkrun with my d-i-l this morningI spotted this at a railway museum - it made me chuckle! Swinging with my grandson! Sparky-Nanna!
Gosh I enjoyed this! (not as dangerous as it looks apparently - but it felt like an extreme activity!) 6.5km run - just the job! #justdoit (this was an actual photo taken this morning on my run) 5 mile walk this afternoon, and a lovely coffee on the beach (oh, yes, and a small slice of something sweet - well, it's Sunday!) #JustALittleSomething ! After-run glow! I was thrilled to wake up and feel my running mojo was back! Up and out before breakfast - leafy lanes, grassy field paths, granite styles, bubbling streams #FeelingGreattoday I am not put off by the rain - runners are waterproof! I woke to torrential rain - but it didn't stop me today - I enjoyed it! #RunnersAreWaterproofI got up and out to run at least 8 miles this morning - spurred on my a pledge I made to support one running every day in June for charity. He's running 16 miles on 16th June, 17 miles on 17th, 18 miles on 18th and so on! He is an experienced ultra-runner, so it's not such a big deal for him - but still a great challenge! I couldn't do 16 miles, so said I'd do a 'Half'! 13.6 km along fabulous quiet, country lanes. Lovely! It was hot today. After work I just had an irrepressible desire to run! So I did! Not far, not fast, but I ran. And it felt SO GOOD! #FeelGoodFactor I got up early this morning - it's been extremely windy overnight and the sea is still very choppy. But the wind made it a pleasant run and kept me cool #JustDoItI was up early and out the door just after 5.30 am. It was a calm, peaceful morning, and the smell of the sea was just wonderful. I'm so lucky to live here. #BreathInBreathOutPlaying my recorder with the Cornish traditional music group is magical Up and out early again (hooray for the long days of summer!) and had a very adventurous run ;) don't you just love how the bindweed has worked it's way along the ironwork on this gate - I thought it looked so pretty (unlike my feet & legs which were muddy and scratched!) #EarlyBirdsaw a bit of ordinary magic this morning on my run - the mist on the meadow was really lovelyon top of the world - well, not quite, but quite high up having climbed out of the bunker at Porthcurno Telegraph Museum10.8 km along the lovely, flat, coast path this morning #UpAndOut I came across the set-up for a big endurance run (23 miles multi-terrain - very hard) and wondered how on earth they do it - there are HUNDREDS of entrants! https://ratracemanvscoast.co.uk/is on Day 97 of this wonderful book - today's it's about how music is a mood-changer16.8 k on a wonderful Sunday afternoon! Phew! I went out for a really warm run after work today! I had hoped to run with a friend, but she didn't make it. 7.16 km and a lot of hill climbing - which also meant some lovely downhill sections too! Who went out without her hat this morning? Whoops! The sun was very strong and I should definitely have been wearing a hat! 10.7 km - then I stopped and walked in the shade for another 1.5 km home. But - I did it! #IMetMyGoal! And breath......I did it! 10 km trail run done this evening - fantastic evening - the rain stopped - it was beautiful! I timed myself at around 1hr 12 mins - which is amazing for me! I'll be heading out on my bicycle later today - over the moors! After work, and not feeling much like it, I got on my bicycle and cycled 6 miles UP and DOWN over the moors to get to Morvah Pasty Day. The UP and Down over the moors to get home again. I was rewarded by a great feeling of accomplishment, and some beautiful views! ?post=8_ways_to_bust_the_winter_blahsI loved this post from @MAYDAY62is so delighted with this word-picture that my son gifted to me for Xmas - I love it! I finally got myself out of the door for a run! And I feel BRILLIANT! I'm so glad to have done this today. #GetOutdoor #Running I felt very adventurous going out in the dark this morning - running by the sea and meeting only other lone runners - it was a perfect way to start this last day of the year. I was tickled to get the badge from Garmin (I love the virtual gongs and rewards on these apps - Garmin is really good at celebrating achievements) This one was for doing an activity on the last day of the year.it's payday, and I've already spent money on a new book and accompanying journal for 100 MORE Days of Weight Loss (which we're starting on the Team on Monday 6th January) I've just updated my Spark page for the New Year - so much better than going out boozing! All set for another great year with you all here on Spark People. I love the quiet of a Sunday morning - even when I have to go to work! I'll admit I'm scared by the situation brewing Every morning when we wake up we've been given a wonderful gift - another day of life - so let's make the most of it. (Sarah Ban Breathnach)Low tide in two hours' time. Reckon I'm going to don my wellies and get out for a walk on the beachLow tide in 2 hrs. Reckon I'll don my wellies and get out there!something quirky for my vision board :DA Sunday morning walk - the roads and paths all quiet at this time of year I got myself to the pool for the first time in..............ages! It was much nicer than I remembered it; the water was not so chlorine-y, the changing rooms seemed warmer and cleaner, the showers seemed better........ all round, a good experience.
My reward was a salad box and an organic clementine from the local whole-food/organic store. The Spark January calendar has a great one today:
People will try to
persuade you to go
against your plan,
whether they feel guilty
themselves or jealous of
you. Ignore them. Share
your goals with positive
people and stay away
from these topics
around the negative ones.
