Gary is helping a lot.

Sunday, March 02, 2008

Gary has started watching what he's been eating. We now go for walks together with Domino. I get angrier when we walk together (he tells me THE best way to walk MY dog), but I need to focus on the fresh air and how much fun it really is to spend quality time together like that.

We went grocery shopping together and he actually spent more time reading labels than I did. He was shocked at the sodium content. I did lose him a few times because I thought he was done and went back 5 min. later and he was still there. I've created a monster. He only needs to lose about 10 lbs. and works in construction (so he gets exercise), but he's diabetic and eats way to much sugar, meat, cake etc. He's weaning himself off of soda (Thank Goodness)! I haven't had soda in decades.

Now when I cook a vegetarian meal, he will actually eat it and not make fun of it. I'll get his taste buds to change!

I know what you mean.I'm slowly turning Bruce on to this way of eating. He started watching the show that I watch that inspired me to make the change .He loves to read so I leave the book from the show in the bathroom(that's where he reads???)and he reads it because I took everything else out. He's even been trying the food and liking most of it.When I started he was like Gary,he just laughed at it.He's a big meat eater and he thinks the only veggies are corn, potatoes, and green beans.I haven't gotten him walking yet as he is also in constuction and does it all day at work.Maybe someday though, one can only hope.
