5K This Weekend

Today I worked out for the 3rd day in a row. I'm very determined to get as well-conditioned as I possibly can for this weekend's 5k. I have never been in a race before, but my ultimate goal is to finish. I'm currently lacking confidence by only thinking about how a lot of other people will more than likely finish before me. I'm hoping that if I can keep up this exercise and complete this race, I can develop the confidence I need in the future. I'm actually beginning to enjoy working out and making smarter decisions about what I put into my body. It makes me feel great!
As of this day, I am now able to run for 30 minutes at 5.0mph pace! This is a huge accomplishment for me since December of 2007 where it was extremely difficult for me to even run a half a mile without heavy breathing! Today, within my 35 minute run/power walk cardio, I was able to go a distance of 2.55 miles which is close to 3.1 miles (the distance of the 5k)! I also noticed a big difference in my work out today than I have with most other workouts I've had in the past; I did not feel dizzy afterwards!
