Getting Hyped for Sunday

Thursday, May 01, 2008

OK, my race is Sunday. I can hardly sit still right now. It's kind of wierd to take two days off in a row - Thursday and Friday. I'm even taking Friday off from work (because I have to get my truck fixed - it's leaking oil). My morning plan (really just a plan to kill the time I would spend at work) - take the truck to the shop and run home (walking distance), take son to Speech Therapy, check my bank account, clean a little and grocery shop a little (because I'm anticipating being unable to move on Sunday when I usually do those things), then go to the Expo and get my bib and goodie bag. Maybe shop a little for some summer running gear, now that I have a brand that I like. I am thinking about heading down to "Spirit of the Marathon" on Fountain Square Friday night, but I would rather watch it at home. I will definitely buy that movie.

I'm also thinking about planting some flowers. My husband is giving me a huge birthday party in two weeks, and I need my yard to look good, so I'm doing little every week.

Saturday - My son has T ball in the morning, and I need to do a two mile warmup. Hopefully the car will be finished and I will go get it. My friend Anita is running the flying pig 5K, it's her first, so maybe I'll go down. If I get there in time, I want to enter my son in the kids race (he's 4, so it's like 50 yards). I planned to enter him earlier, but I didn't know the time schedule for T ball. After that, over to my mom's to drop John off, watch the derby and head for home to chill in the peace and quiet before the race!

Sunday - my husband is in the medical tent as head of the triage area (he's an RN), so we have a PARKING PASS CLOSE TO THE FINISH LINE!!!!! We're going down at 5:45 and he's going to watch the start and then head over to his area where he's working. I'll see him at the finish!

Hey! Have fun tomorrow. We're going to take our daughter down for the Piglet as well. She's 6 so she's doing 100 yards. I've been pretty antsy all week and waking up every morning at 4:30. brutal. I am so ready to do this. :)
