Wow, Memorial Day weekend! My favorite weekend of the year - I just love to walk onto the pool deck and look at the bright blue water and smell the chlorine. It brings back memories of swimming for the Y and working at the Y during high school and college.
I'm trying to shake this crazy cough/cold thing that I have going on. I have had a hard time running during this illness because I keep hacking and coughing around 3 miles. So, that's where I cut it off.
If it's not raining tomorrow morning, I'm going to try to do a 5 mile run. Right now, I'm keeping my runs shorter and doing aerobics on alternate days. I'm trying to do more strength work, too. I really think that (for me anyway) a 10 pound weight loss might get me a faster marathon.
If I run Chicago or Columbus (it will definitely be one of the two), I'll start training mid-June. In the mean time, I'm trying to lose some weight. So far, less exercise has actually worked in my favor. Since my marathon, I've lost two pounds. But, maybe those were just meant to come off!
