Getting back into the swing of training!

OK, so we got back from Hilton Head on Saturday. It was a great vacation - we did a lot of things that were family oriented - a hay ride, fireworks, a nature walk, go to the beach (I love the beach), bike ride, and we took John on a pony ride. It was so nice to do all of those things. I got a lot of exercise in, too - running almost every day, walk too and from the beach every day ( a mile pulling a wagon full of toys, coolers, towels, etc) a couple bike rides. I don't think I gained any weight this vacation - I'm not stepping on the scale until Friday or Saturday.
This week, I plan on getting back into a fitness routine. Workout DVD's, runs, and classes at the Y are on my agenda. Plus, I have to teach swim lessons every day, so I will swim with my classes, too.
I decided that I'm going to run the Columbus Marathon this fall. I have to start training next week, but I'm not going to register until mid July so I can see if I can handle the long runs in the heat. I counted out my Long run days, and I don't have a 20 miler until August 31, so the heat might not be so bad for that one.
I also think that I need to lose some weight so that I can run faster. I know it's near impossible to lose while serious marathon training, but I will try to get down to 140 before the training gets too intense (I think I can get there by the end of July if I REALLY work at it).
