As I was reflecting today because it is the day before I weigh in for my short goal, I did some serious soul searching...I had to ask myself some serious questions as I have had some problems lately keeping up with my food tracker, exercise, and just dieting in general even though I know I have set my long term goal to lose my weight this year..
For some reason, I have not stayed committed and true to myself and I am so thankful the Lord has dealt with me in regards to this and shown me these things.. I do not have trouble helping my friends, my family or even strangers, however I struggle with helping myself, and I am very important because if I don't take care of me, how can I possibly help other people? Today I have made some new commitments to myself.. to keep track so I will know how many calories I have eaten.. I have already planned the month of July's menus so I know what I am going to eat this next month and I am going to walk at least 30 minutes daily 5 days per week.. I am not going to beat myself up over this because it is a learning experience and this is how I am going to reach my goal by learning new behaviors and habits.. I am not going to say I won't fail again because I probably will, but I am not going to plan a failure, but when I do, I will get up and stay on this journey..
There are only two options regarding commitment. You're either IN or you're OUT. There's no such thing as life in-between.

The greatest form of maturity is at harvest time. This is when we must learn how to reap without complaint if the amounts are small and how to reap without apology if the amounts are big.
Life asks us to make measurable progress in reasonable time. That's why they make those fourth grade chairs so small – so you won't fit in them at age twenty-five!
There are some things you don't have to know how it works - only that it works. While some people are studying the roots, others are picking the fruit. It just depends on which end of this you want to get in on.
"With my heart, mind and vision set upon a healthy weight for myself and my tomorrows, I am accepting that something more TO DO is far more important for my hands and time than something more
It is one of the most beautiful compensations in life…we can never help another without helping ourselves.
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson
