Welcome to August, the summer is slowly coming to an end :-(

As this is my first full month, I have made some steep challenges for this month. I want to keep motivated & stay on track. I need to be held accountable. I need to do cardio 5 days a week. I need to stay within my calories and fat EVERY day. I must not only log my food, but plan my food to allow for any treats. I must do this!!

No more bright, long days with the kids. Not really sure if I'm happy or sad about it coming to an end. Today we went and filled out Keith's 1st grade registration paperwork! He's starting on the 25th! Next week is Vacation Bible School for the kids, I offered to volunteer and I'm really excited to be part of it this year. I will probably be staying home with Molly for this year. She already completed Pre-K and they will not allow her in Kindergarten because she won't turn 5 until January. I think we will work with the K work this year anyway and focus on reading & writing skills, she likes to do school work.

I told my husband the goal for this month, he knew I was kinda upset that cardio didn't fit into the schedule today. He offered to take a walk with us as a family. He's great motivation, we went to the trail, it's a loop, I figured we'd walk a mile or so and then turn around, he figured we'd walk the 5.5 mile loop. Guess who got their way. We walked 5.5 miles in 1 hour 59 minutes. Molly did better than Keith, and I really thought she would want to be carried after mile 2 or 3. She would RUN to the mile marker, stand in front of it and "surprise" us when she unveiled it. She is my motivator. Keith was complaining the whole time, it's hot, I'm tired, I don't want to walk, my legs hurt.... Me, I'm a hurtin ol lady about to jump in the shower and then hop into bed... yeah, as if jumping and hopping are even possible with these legs right about now....
