HEALTHY REFLECTIONS: The power of a positive face

Have you ever contemplated how much a smile can change a person's day? Both the person who smiles and the one who sees it are positively impacted by such a small act.

I'm lucky in the fact that when I get nervous I smile. This always seems to make people respond to me in a friendly way, which in turn makes me relax!

A few years ago I worked at a job for 10 years where you were not allowed in public without a smile on. When I left the job I spent days not smiling, just to relax my face, LOL! It is quite amazing how tiring it is to smile all day.

I realized that it did make me have a better day. If I would wake up in the morning in a bad mood, I could go to work and feel better just by smiling!

I still smile a lot, but only have to force myself every once in awhile. Maybe some people think I'm crazy when they see me walking down the street or in the grocery store smiling at myself! But I'm sure it also puts a smile on their faces emoticon

See how many people's faces you can put a smile on today, just by adding one to your face emoticon

Very good. Everyone could probably smile a little more besides it makes people wonder what you are up to!

I work with a lot of teenagers. I always tell them that when you smile, your body releases endorphins (sp?) which makes you happy!

I read something once that said to smile when you answer the phone b/c people can hear it - I suppose we could all do a little more smiling! :-)

I read this from my email and I knew you were going to blog on it. I kept waiting and waiting... Here it is!!!!

I am always too serious! I need to smile a whole lot more!! My husband tells me that all the time....He is like you, always has a smile on his face. Some people get irritated at him because he even smiles when somebody is upset with him... I am definitely going to work on this one!

Thank you for your view on the subject!

    Have a great weekend!!!
