Little Signs

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

So I started school yesterday at a campus I've never been to before. Parking was a NIGHTMARE. Because I had never been to the campus before, I was more annoyed just for the sake that I didn't know where I was or where I should be going, especially since half the lots were closed due to construction. Well, what could have been taken as a reason to completely get emotionally frustrated to start my day, I finally found parking in the best place possible: at the very bottom of campus, with 92 stairs to climb to get to my first class! A couple years ago I would have circled that campus twenty times looking for parking before ever climbing up 92 of the steepest stairs I have ever seen.... but I took it as a little sign of my progress, that YES I could climb up these stairs, slightly injured and all.... because I was not going to take the elevator or drive around wasting gas!
Two days in a row now I've done it and I will park there every single day of this semester. That's 4 times a week up and down for 11,766 total stairs and I couldn't be happier about it...
My calves better look good in December! ; )
