“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off the goal.” -- Hannah More

Goals can impact every area of your life. Pursuing goals takes hard-work, perseverance, and dedication. Sometimes it is easy to see the obstacles that lay ahead of your mission. Try to look at them as challenges. Set goals, plan for success, and embrace each challenge as a chance to grow. Remember that obstacles are part of the goal-setting process and shouldn’t be considered failures

“Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but doesn’t get you anywhere.” --Anonymous

Too many of us worry about things that do not affect us or that we cannot change. Although worrying gives you something to do, there are more productive ways to be spending your time. Letting other people’s stress transfer to you is one of the most common pitfalls of a worrier. Instead of worrying about others, think of yourself. Remind yourself that worrying doesn’t help anyone, especially you! If it is a situation that directly involves you or that you feel you could help, find a solution rather than worry about the outcome. If nothing else, just talk to someone about your concerns. Getting them out in the open tends to help put your mind at ease.

“The future comes one day at a time.” --Dean Acheson

So many times we get caught up in planning for the big picture, the final result that is months, even years away. But are we losing out on today? It great to have long term goals, but under these long term goals must lay medium and short term goals as well. Big things don’t just happen overnight. They are built up over time. Tomorrow holds no guarantees, so make the best use of today as you know how. This might mean starting small, with some detail that may seem unimportant. But these minor details can build up to the main event, the big goal and dream that you are working towards.
