So I need a shot in the arm to help me get back on track. Right now I feel I am so far off track that I need to take a bus to the track to get back on it. Last time I bloged I told you all why I am doing this but I need some help with motivation and wonder what motivates you all? What motivates you to make the changes in your lifestyle that help you lose weight?
We each have different motivations and needs that keep us stepping up to improve our health. For me I am trying to avoid having to go on medications for Type II Diabetes. My father died from the side effects of 20 years on insulin . . . so I want to avoid this at all costs. Yet my path is not a smooth one . . . it is like climbing a mountain. Sometimes it is a bit bumby and I slip back down the slope a bit, but I have to keep looking up!
Sure I want to look better, I want to be healthy looking!!! I want to ensure that I do all I can to maintain my physical well-being. Yet, I want to make sure that live a healthy lifestyle and enjoy each day. If what I eat and exercise lacks joy, then I cannot sustain the effort. No amount of motivation will sustain me if I lack joy in my life.
I hope that you can find the motivation within yourself. I started by writing a list of the pros and cons of getting healthy or staying like I was when I started this journey. I review this list whenever I begin to weaken.
I am right there will you! I thought I would need a GPS to find my way back to the track!! Fortunately, I heard my Spark friends calling me and I followed the voices...and people said I was crazy for hearing voices!!! I just want to be healthy for my husband and daughter...and having heads turn when I walk in a room for the right reasons!! I want to be an asset for my husband, not an embarrassment!!! Everyone has their own reasons, but at the base of the reason pyramid should be yourself!!! Good luck finding your way back to us!!! Just listen for the yells, trust me, you aren't crazy!!! 4407 days ago
Winning your battle, whatever that battle may be, is loaded with many wins, losses and comebacks. It’s not a straight and easy path. It has detours and speedbumps and a few dips, curves, and dangers along the way. And truthfully, if it were easy, well, then none of us would be here in the need of support, motivation and advice. YOU CAN DO IT. IT IS YOUR TIME TO FLY
I want to look and feel fit (and hot too, I have to admit). I don't want to have to worry if my shirt rides up if I have muffin top, I don't want to have to worry about my health and if I'm riding the shirt tails of high blood pressure or high cholesterol. I'll be 46 next week and I plan to live to be 100 - and in good health. 4408 days ago
