Have I done this to myself. Have I created Monsters?

Tuesday, March 03, 2009

OK, I have been fighting a cold for 4 or 5 days. Saturday I felt horrible. Sunday I did so much cleaning in bleach to no avail, because i ended up with the vomiting flu Sunday night. I slept all day yesterday. My stomach has been upside down. My eating choices, when i could eat, have not been what i have been eating the last couple of weeks. But I do not care. I felt yucky.
So yesterday I was eating a graham cracker. I have had one sleeve of them for 6 weeks. Yesterday my oldest daughter says, "Mom, you are not going off your program are you? Are you sure you can eat those?" Dana said something last night too. Honey, Maybe the graham crackers are not good for you." Did I mention this is the sleeve of Graham crackers that I have been eating for 6 weeks? I thanked them for their concern, but assured them that this would not end my diet and it was a much better choice than the GS thin mints and samoas I have been watching them all stuff down their throats. (geez) I have created the good food monster police in my house?
I woke up today and I feel better. My stomach is still sore, but probably because i have not eaten a "Meal" just snacks the past 2 days. The world has not fallen apart with out me exercising the past 2 days. I am planning on going to a wake tonight for a good friend of my parent that passed. Then I am going to the gym and hitting the saunna. Me time away from the monsters that I have created!!!
This is a lifestyle change. The change to go to the gym, workout to new levels, teaming up with my sister instead of working against her in this journey, and making small changes daily to get toward that goal. I can do this even with the Monsters that i live with.
Here is to a strong day with no illness!!

What a great family of monsters you have created! It's wonderful that they are concerned about you and want you to succeed - now if you can only teach them some tact, and maybe how to set you a proper example!

So glad you are feeling better. Take it easy at the gym - don't exhaust yourself. First day up you are tempted to hit it hard, but your body isn't really THAT healthy yet! Go slow, or lower the resistance.

Take care and enjoy the sauna for me!
