What a Weekend!

We started off early Thursday morning and headed to the Featherdale Wildlife Park in Sydney. The animals there are gorgeous and the setup is really relaxed and as Aussie as you can get! There are birds of all sorts and wallabies, roos, pheasants etc wandering right where you are walking. If you want to see lots of Koalas, go to Featherdale. The amount of Koalas they have stole my breath away. I have to admit I fell in love with the littlies (14 months old) tackling and playing with each other :) I have it on video and will try to post it when I have time :)
After this we were off to Penrith Panthers club for the Joe Nichols Size Matters tour. The line up was fantastic with Jasmine Rae, Deana Carter and Steve Forde coming on first. I have to admit that Jasmine Rae blew me away. What a voice! and a stage presence that you cannot ignore :) Of course, Peter fell for her straight off and ended up buying her CD and a white tshirt with fluro pink lettering! LOL! Of course he got both of these signed by Jasmine herself and told her he'd see her at the CMC Rocks the Snowies Concert! LOL!
The final act of the night was Joe Nichols - and he was definitely worth waiting for :) He sings as good in real life as he does on his albums - and of course, he's VERY easy on the eyes also LOL! If you ever get a chance to see him perform live - then definitely go!
On Friday it was up early and back to Queanbeyan. I had to laugh when Peter put his new Jasmine Rae CD in the car and broke the 6 stacker CD holder! LOL! We had no music from Sydney to QBN, but the hour we had at home before heading to the snowies was well spent by Peter fixing the stacker LOL!
We hit the CMC Rocks the Snowies concert on Friday night and really enjoyed the music including John Williamson until it got too cold even for Peter. We definitely weren't as well prepared for the cold as we'd thought!
Saturday was another big day, sitting on the hard ground in the sun for more than 9 hours enjoying heaps of fantastic country music. Jasmine Rae of course blew the audience away with her blow you away style :) How she gets such a big voice out of that little frame is beyond me! :)
The Sunny Cowgirls came on at about 4pm and rocked the audience away for an hour. This is another group to go see if you ever get the chance - they are fantastic live :) Taylor Swift also blew me away - what a concert! I wouldn't say it was "countrified" though LOL! She had all the glam and glitz of a top notch pop concert - she definitely deserves all the acclaim she has gotten :)
Peter scored another autograph from Jasmine Rae on his Akubra on Saturday afternoon also while she was taping a segment for CMC with Steve Forde. If hard work is all you need to get you to the top, then Jasmine will be there in no time!
Today is Sunday and here I sit with aching muscles all over (from sitting on the very hard ground all weekend), and a very very red face from wind burn (only on the bottom half though as I wore sunglasses and an akubra! I look like a racoon! LOL!). I'm also exhausted and have a minor headache from all the sun I'm not used to seeing.... but I'd do it all over again next weekend if I could! LOL!
If you ever get a chance to go to CMC Rocks the Snowies - take it - You definitely won't regret it :) We'll definitely be going back next year :)
